More importantly, no furnace yet.  It was close on Saturday.  The residents at my house were complaining about the cold, but we made it through.

Given the forecast, we should be in good shape until late next week, I would expect.

Same.  This morning was our coldest--63 when I got up.  The forecast looks promising, though.

Celebrate your success all you want.  Hell, I respect what Coach Journell is doing with the program and welcome a better Carleton program.  I would be willing to bet that the person in charge of social media isn't a coach or player.  If you want to celebrate a 5-0 start, and that's great by me, but by laying claim to 1st place in the conference prior to playing any of the big dogs, or even aspiring big dogs, you should expect to get called out on it.  Sorry to ruffle your feathers--take it as a sign of respect.

This seems like a strange hill to die on so to speak. Would think most/all conference teams, especially those who are perennial playoff teams, would want all MIAC teams to be viewed as stronger. Whether they are or not is determined on the field of play anyways. I think most people saw Carlton's post and understood they haven't gotten to the meat of their schedule so took it with a grain of salt. Hell, if they can turn that social media buzz into future stronger OOC scheduling and they win then that's also a win for the MIAC IMO.

The graphic was *technically* true, perhaps conceptually misleading (depending on perspective), at the time. Gonna give the nerds in Northfield some slack here. Carleton has had a winning record once in the 2000s prior to 2021, and are two games away from a 3rd straight 7-win season.

The wife lodged a formal complaint last night.  "It was 63 in here today.  When do you think you'll turn the furnace on?"  ;D

I told her when it hits 59.  We were back to 65 this morning, and it looks like a beautiful day, so we should be golden.

Congrats to Aaron Syverson, who was named to D3Football.com's Team of the Week after an impressive day against previously-unbeaten and MIAC-leading Carleton.

Syverson finished 31-of-42 passing for 448 yards and six touchdowns in the Johnnies' 63-7 win against previously unbeaten Carleton. He became the sixth Johnnie to pass for five touchdowns in a half and the fourth to pass for six or more in a game.

LOL! This is funny stuff DuffMan. Acknowledging Carleton's success while also reminding them they still have work to do versus the Johnnies.

I rate it .9999 probable that Carleton supporters have bookmarked this page for hopeful future use.

Anyone else in red fearful of a slow start for the Jays in St. Peter? I've heard/seen it mentioned in several places that last weekend's results all but clinched a Bethel-SJU rematch.

Bethel indeed looks set in the Skyline. Aren't the playoff teams set by division and not conference records? That would leave SJU and GAC at 1-0 in the Northwoods .. and I see the Gusties as a much more dangerous team (despite the Knights' well-publicized time in the rare air at the top of the conference!). GAC has nice QB-WR combo and is just better IMO.

Combine that with a team that struggles with its discipline (33 penalties over the past three games) and the scene seems set for a potentially rough Saturday afternoon on the road.
