SJU @ #18.  Kinda funny that GAC gets no votes.

So here's what kind-of bugs me in this whole mess - D3 Football says from last year's results, that we're the second best conference in the land. Ok, that's great and all, but we know that 4 of the 6 of the teams mentioned above as possible contenders for the championship game aren't getting any love across the land. Last week St. John's received 455 points, and Bethel 7 points in the Top 25 poll. There seems to be somewhat of a disconnect between the poll and reality. Today, perhaps the Johnnies also drop out of the top 25 - but I don't think they will because of their history. But if the MIAC is as mediocre as some of you are proclaiming, then perhaps by the end of the season there will be no MIAC teams in the Top 25. However, if the MIAC is becoming somewhat WIAC-ish, where every year there are two or three teams that could take the conference, then hopefully the voters will take note of this and start casting some votes in the direction of the MIAC contenders. I recognize that there are only so many votes to go around, but I get the sense that "piling-on" happens to some of those teams from say number 5 in the country on down. I get that it's just easier to vote similarly to how you did the week before, and at this point in the season to not look any deeper into what is happening in all the conferences around the country. Perhaps UMHB's 3 loss start was a bit of a wake-up call to this ever-changing landscape we love called D3 Football. My rose colored glasses see that the MIAC is getting better, just nobody is noticing.

FWIW this year I don't believe the MIAC would have a team that could finish in the top half of the WIAC. I know it was early in the season but GAC got handled pretty well by Stout (currently 3rd to last place in the WIAC...lost to UWL 45-40, Oshkosh 48-46 and UWW 37-20).
I also don't believe we would compete well in the American Southwest. I think w/out U$T we are more likely a 3rd or 4th ranked conference.
I do think that GAC and Auggie have improved but I also think that Bethel and SJU have slipped back.

And BU dropped a vote. I need to take a break from this and find some new hobbies.

Losses to Stout and Augsburg really make it difficult to vote for Gustavus. Win against Trinity is what is keeping St. John's as high in the poll as they are.

I'd forgotten they lost to Auggie Tech.

Has ZERO impact on them....cross over games count as much as scrimmages.

And the MIAC will likely send an unranked team to the playoffs while a ranked team with fewer losses plays for 3rd or 4th place. Great system created by league leaders that know nothing about sports.

When was the last time St John's was this big of a disappointment? The last few years of Gagliardi's tenure?

Johnnie posters on the board were flipping out during the 4-4-1 1986 campaign.

Until the board ran out of thumbtacks.

Think the first time I obsessively refreshed the actual beloved board was 2000 SJU vs. PLU, specifically when it went into OT. Was in the Fargo Forum's newsroom just clicking over and over and over again.

GAC isn't going to beat Bethel.

I don't know- they basically already did!

I could also see BU stubbing their toe against the Cobbers.

Could the Oles be a trap game for the Gusties this weekend??? You know Coach Killian will throw everything and kitchen sink at them. The Gusties still coming down from the big win vs Johnnies and big last home game of regular season vs Carleton next weekend.
