No more letting off the gas when we've put a game away! I like the "Leave No Doubt" mantra!

By not letting off the gas, I assume you mean to leave the starters in and run up the score. Do you really think it makes any difference if you beat St. Scholastica by 50-7 versus 80-7?  If the game is already put away, then there already is no doubt. It would be better to put in 2nd stringers to give them some game experience, not to mention risking injury to starters when the game is already decided.

Busy weekend at my house, and did not get to watch the selection show. Still a bit stunned for the Johnnies, but that's the risk you take when you go into St. Peter and have an average-at-best Golden Gustie squad eat your lunch.

That being said, there has to be something done at the NCAA level about the number of auto bids/expansion. I tend to think the tournament is large enough as it is, and would prefer to stay away from playing the Stagg Bowl after Christmas or the New Year. I think the focus needs to be on taking the conferences that have fewer than 8 members and putting them into a "Pool B" that awards bids to the top 75% of those conference champions. So long as we have Pool C opened up to about 6-8(ish) teams.

Agreed. An auto qualifier going to a 6-team conference is downright ridiculous. The spread in quality between the top and bottom conferences in D3 is already massive and that 6-team threshold made it worse. On a related note, this also is the time of year the "D4" conversation comes up like clockwork.

Or, as Pat noted in podcast, five-team, revolving door leagues that get two-year "grace periods" with AQ.

Bottom line: The guys that run this site know more than the coaches (polls are example No. 1) and care more than the NCAA.

There's this word called "sarcasm"....also No Doubt is what the Linfield posters came up when they got snubbed for the playoffs years ago.  Their point was  win every game from there on out, get the automatic bid, and don't leave your fate in the hands of the committee and their arbitrary decisions on who gets at large bids.

After having to explain all this, I'm now officially crawling back under my rock Duff...

Just so I'm clear, am I correct in thinking that it is hypothetically possible that a MIAC team could lose both non-conference games and all 3 non-division conference games and still play for a conference "championship" if they win their 4 divisional games? So, it would be possible for the MIAC "champion" to make the NCAA D3 playoffs with a 5-5 record.

Pat Coleman

And you could certainly win that division with a 3-1 record in the division.

Yep...theoretically a team could be 4-5 and make it to the MIAC championship game.
MIAC teams literally play 2 non-conference games, 3 meaningless conference scrimmages, and 4 meaningful conference divisional games.

And ironically move up 4 spots to #16 in the final D3football poll.  ::) ::) ::)

There is no other conference in collegiate or professional sports that uses this method to render it's "top" teams....No other competitive endeavor that neuters the full conference schedule and only with special new math is 7-1 considered a worse record than 5-3.....Congratulations MIAC you have succeeded in making us dumber and undermined football (which was always part of the goal).

And Coe drops completely out of the top 25.

Yes-the NCAA has problems across all divisions-except maybe D1 hockey-pairwise anyone?

So, are the play-off games simply being streamed from the home stadiums, as in year's past?

I think what everyone is missing is the fact that all MIAC teams get to participate in "Championship Week" ;)[**this is known as sarcasm**]

I know a bit of the history between BU and the folks at D3 Photography - this makes me chuckle.
