I don't know enough about the teams from the east, outside of them generally not doing well late in the tournament.  Is it likely that the semifinal between the winners of the Lacrosse vs NC and Wartburg vx UWW is more of the true title game?  Or does the other side of the bracket have a chance?

Was reading Patricia Cornwell's second book, "Body of Evidence" on Saturday & stopped on page 267 for the night. On page 266, it reads, "We passed sleepy storefronts - a barbershop, a stationary store, a bank - then picked up speed as we curved around the campus of Randolph-Macon College with it's Georgian buildings and its frosted athletic field peopled at this early moonlit hour by a row of varicolored football sleds." Quite the timing with the playoffs going & Randolph-Macon still alive! Got a kick out of it!

This is really very cool! +k

I am very impressed with Randolph-Macon and wish them luck moving forward.

IMHO it would be a very fair to say, what you're saying, is accurate. I would say that any of those four (UWL, NCC, Wartburg, UWW) would be a clear favorite over any of the other four (Cortland, Alma, JHU, RM) to win the Stagg, hands down.

With that said you have an Alma team that just beat UMU, a JHU team with a QB talented enough to pull off an upset (not to mention some very athletic receivers), and a Randolph-Macon team that absolutely took Ithaca (a team with a decent defense) to the woodshed. Even with that I'd still be shocked if any of these teams were able to beat any of the other 4.

I'd almost like to see them mix up the match ups for the next round. I think that would allow four of the top 8 of these teams UWL, NCC, Wartburg, and UWW to get to the semi's. I know that's not how it works though. This is coming from an East guy who simply acknowledges the writing on the wall. We'll see as in playoff football anything can happen. Ask UMU.

D2 playoffs went with a a paywall https://x.com/steelepetty/status/1728919887496769850?s=46&t=g-or2FfQwhfEf-aUIDwBoA

As did Mount Union...paid for broadcast rights and the charged $10 for fans to watch a second round loss. How long before D3 playoffs are PPV?

It would actually be nice if all the playoff games were on a major platform like ESPN+, you'd pay just one monthly price for every game and be able to switch between games easily. This works pretty well with the FCS playoff games that don't make it to the broadcast networks.

Next year. If the NCAA can do anything to mess up a good thing, they'll find a way to hit D3 as well.

Agreed...i would pay for a month or so of EPSN+ and skip a 6 pack of my favorite IPA.

Nice win by Wartburg. UW-Lacrosse looked outmatched from the get-go.

Congratulations to St. Olaf on their national title. Had a lot of tough playoff wins to get there including one against Carleton. At least it's another MIAC team instead of another Amherst or Williams.

That's 3 national team championships from MIAC teams since UST got kicked out, more than the 15 years before UST left.  The "Coalition of Losers" are getting rewarded.

I dislike the title "Coalition of Losers".  Don't like it and will never use it.

Congrats to the winners.  Also, to the individual champions that have hit this year.

I, too, have watched that side of the bracket with interest. We in the western half of Region 3 rarely play anyone from the eastern half. Occasionally a Huntingdon is sent this way, but the last ODAC for that an ASC team or Trinity played was years ago. RMC intrigues me. I have waited to cast my ballot for the Region 3 Fan Poll for RMC to run its course. Endicott ran away from HSU, after the Cowboys lost 2 MLB's (both have been awarded post-season accolades) and its QB. The 3rd string MLB was burned several times by Endicott's passing game. Has Trinity ever endured a double monkey-stomp like they received from NCC? (Maybe never from a D-3 team?)

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I'll be honest. The upcoming Wartburg-NCC game is the de facto national championship game in my mind.

However, those east teams will get their shot to prove my biases wrong. Looking forward to how this season plays out.
