Just got word that my Stage 1 upgrade is finished on my Vulcan Mean Streak. Basically my bike is now louder and faster (cue Tool Time/Tim the Tool-Man Taylor grunting), and more blacked out. Perfect timing, as I've been dying to get out and ride a bit!

If my wife puts out the APB searching for a missing husband, you'll know where to direct her this weekend!  ;D

Pics. Of the bike and your one percenters leathers.

No pics with me on the new setup yet.

We've also got a trip to Las Vegas planned for later this month. Garth Brooks concert, and renting a Harley to do some rides/hikes in Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire.

My only regret about buying the bike was that I didn't do it 20 years earlier. Best form of therapy and stress relief I've ever found. And we are quickly discovering that renting a bike on our long weekend getaways is a ton of fun. We did a trip to Kentucky and the bourbon trail last May and NoLa with a ride to the LSU v aTm game last fall. I've made it a goal to try to ride in all 50 states. There's an Aussie I follow on YouTube that has me dreaming of a trip down under too. I'll let you know if I ever pull that off Oz :)

That's a nice looking bike.  And some beatiful countryside for you Vegas ride.

Also, you're always welcome to visit Aus, of course.  I would love the opportunity to show you or anyone from these boards (even snoopdawg) a nice night out in Melbourne.

I'll vouch for Oz's statement, my wife and I were there, gulp, seven years ago and had a great evening with him and his bride.

This may sound funny, but I've found myself several times telling someone of my "internet friend" from Melbourne. We had a member of my team (actually a Cobber) transfer back from our Sydney office recently and she was surprised about how much I knew about Aussie Rules Football. "Well, I've got this 'buddy' down under who loves his Hawthorn Hawks ..."

Here's to actually sharing some drinks in Melbourne with our wives sometime down the road Oz!

"To our wives and girlfriends... may they never meet."

I actually tried that one when we were out for dinner with friends a few weeks ago.  It went over like a lead balloon.

(Seven years already, stanbob?  Man, time flies.)

Ok, a Hawthorn update.  Unfortunately, we have started the season 0-4, but... we're very close.  We field the youngest team in the league and we're THIS CLOSE to busting out big time.  As soon as our forward line clicks (which turned over five of six players from last season), we'll be holding our own against the middle third of the league and playing solid against the top third.

Our midfield can win the inside contest against any side but for the absolute top teams, and even then we're not embarrassed.  Our defense can keep us in any game.  Our forwards, though, have the yips something fierce being a completely new line and such a young squad.  When they hit, showtime.

Although we're 0-4, we would easily be 2-2 had we kicked reasonably straight for goal and 3-1 if we had kicked well.  So, with the youngest team on the field by a large margin... and with another season under their belt, we'll announce ourselves next year. This year, let's see it all come together before the season ends.

Check out Utah while out that way. Very "Ruggedly Handsome" scenery.

Man, did I put the jinx on Hawthorn.  What a woeful game against Gold Coast on the weekend.  Sam Mitchell, the coach and Hawthorn playing legend, was livid.  This week's practices will all be mouthguard in.

Totally agree. I had a work trip out to SLC in February, got some snowboarding in. But definitely planning to go back and head to the southern part of the state to hit up Zion, Bryce Canyon, etc.

From Twitter / X courtesy of @d3football:

The NCAA Division III Management Council has approved football's expansion to a 40-team playoff. It now goes to the Presidents Council. (Typically, once it receives Management Council approval, the Presidents Council does not overrule it.) #d3fb
This starts in 2024. Also, Pool B and Pool C are combined (not super relevant for #d3fb), and the "Pairwise" system for selecting at-large teams will indeed be in effect starting this fall.

Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Could some give a brief explanation of the "pairwise" system.

I googled it.  This is the most complete explanation I've found.  Would be interested to know how this compares to Hansen.  I don't pay enough attention to know.
