Watching North Central annihilate Susquehanna (currently 21-0 in the 1st quarter) makes me wonder how far away from competing for a national championship St John's is? Glad to hear we have a QB transfer to attempt to fill Syverson's shoes! The injury at running back didn't help, but feel like the defense needs to improve.

Johnnies and Bethel are nowhere close the level of NCC. Both are/were legit top 8-10 but still have a ways to go to consistently complete with the big dawgs  of D3.
SJU defense needs a dominant d-lineman, linebacker and a shutdown defensive back. It's going to be difficult to stop  high level offenses but we also need to figure out how to get stops on 3rd and 25 situations.
Gonna be 35-0 in Naperville at the half.

Gonna speak up a little bit for the Johnnies. Do I think they beat NCC? No. But they would have had a decent chance. Homefield, offense would have put up points. Whether enough points maybe not but maybe it would have been. Comparing scores to mutual opponents is usually meaningless. Concordia probably should have beaten the Johnnies. Bethel was ahead of Concordia 42-3 in the fourth quarter. Therefore Bethel should have stomped the Johnnies.

2003: Johnnies barely beat a 3-7 St. Thomas team. Mount Union beats everyone by 50. No way SJU can keep it close.

Etc., etc., throughout the entirety of sports history.

Jung is officially committed to Wisconsin. He also had visits lined up at Minnesota and Northwestern (older Bro's former coach at NDSU is at the latter). Hope he balls out and makes the leap. Twitter comments showing the ignorance of quality D3 talent that is out there.

On another note, ref in Sus game apologized to the Bethel AD after seeing the replay of the final play. FWIW

Safe money in these semifinal games feels like NCC vs. Mount. JHU D could make it interesting. I don't think Sus has enough on D to hang with NCC. And if you get after their QB, his accuracy takes a nose dive. Hoping we get some competitive games.
