Official release on Dennis Czech.

My favorite part..."His most successful season was in '02 when Macalester went 5-5."  They must have had some sweet athletes on that squad.  Especially at receiver--heard the guy had one arm...

I'm willing to bet that no Johnnie fans have seen St. Olaf play this year and are using their combined disgust of last year's outcome and their justified or unjustified hatred of Coach Meidt to formulate opinions that seem quite outlandish.

I feel Saturday will be a great game.

Bus: glad you're still alive. We've been worried sick about you. Please remember to check in. :-*
Frank: Love the Hamm's Monkeystomp idea. How about a Land of Sky Blue Waters Monkeystomp?

Now about that fish fry/Hamm's fest...in all of the excitement on Saturday, my kool-aid/Hamm's-addled brain forgot about a previous committment I have for next Friday. Stay tuned, I'll see how my weaselabilities are working. I'd say 50/50 at this point but it's only Tuesday.

OAS,

WHCC is a Cobber.

I highly doubt that Yahoo has seen the Johnnies, either.

This Johnnie defense is probably the best I've seen.  Dumonceaux is the best I've seen at this level.

STOMP!

OAS:
Those are just bonus reasons.

I just sense that SJU will come out as focused as they did against UWEC-- there is a just enough fear to make the Jays press a bit more.  SJU's passing offense is 5 yards short of being as potent as the Oles, yet the Johnnie defense is a bit stronger-- so I like our chances.

I would really like to see MAC back in the MIAC for football. It's unnatural to have the Scots be quasi-independent, but the Carleton example shows that success is possible. Carleton won a conference title during the 1990s, so being competitive is not out of the question, but it takes more than dollars to bring a program back.  I hope the institution wisens up like STO did when Miller left-- it seems to have paid dividends thus far for the Oles.

Fins, I have ultimate confidence in your weaselabilities.  ;)

Please let me know soon, I don't want to have to ask for permission when
I don't need to.   ;D

Mighty Royal:

I got my first glimpse of Porta last Saturday. From all I have read about him I expected something different.  He is certainly an excellent running back but I was expecting a more imposing physical presence.   He is a very smooth runner with balance as good as you will see.  Time and time again Cord hit him and he bounced off for extra yards.  He was fun to watch.

James Bechdol is a force, there is no doubt about it, you would only be questioning his ability if you have never really watched him play.  Just look at what he did on Sat.  6 solo tackles, 5.0 for loss and a total of 39 yds and then a sack.  Just remember his name on Sat.  He also was a reason Porta was kept in check against Olaf.

Oh and no need to watch the game, cause the score will be Olaf 34, SJU 28

Mighty Royal:

I didn't realize he was closing in on that record.  That would be a tremendous accomplishment.

Dumb Question?  What kind of numbers does he put up in the weigh room and were they exceptional on any particular lift.  With guys like him who are very deceptive I always wonder what seperates them.  My guess would be his clean and vertical numbers would be high.
