Playoff Projection review:

If Cord takes care of business the next two games and then does not get into the playoffs then something is definitely wrong with the playoff format. I understand why the 3 IIAC teams were listed, because they each have a shot at getting the AQ, howeverI don't think any of them would be a more deserving Pool C bid than the Cobbers.

Assuming everything goes as planned, 9 and 1 with the only blemish coming against #3 in the country on a fluke play (SJU faithful  before you get upset the "fluke" was that our All-conference safety let Gearman behind him with 20 seconds left) in the last 25 seconds. WOW!!

I guess I am now hoping more than ever for a single, or even better, a double Stomp this weekend at the Jake to show that the Cobbs belong in the post season.

Pat-

I guess my question is, if Concordia takes care of business, and after the Iowa mess gets taken care of, do you see the Cobbs in the field of 32??

It looks like I crashed the 300 barrier without even noticing it. In celebration, I think I'm going to leave the office, catch an early morning flight to Mexico and spend tomorrow afternoon drinking cold Pacificos* on the beach. After a nice dinner of shrimp tacos, maybe cap the evening off at El Squid Roe.
Adios.

Personally, I prefer the 40's of Corona while in Mexico while enjoying a cheese hot dog from a vendor outside the night clubs.

Going to pick up a couple 30 packs of Schmidt's tonight for a sweet 5 day Birthday celebration.

We'll find out next week. I'm guessing the answer is yes...but there were simply too many other teams 'not yet eliminated' (one IIAC team, one LL team, etc.). Also watch for this week's (and next week's) regional rankings.

Concordia gets in I think, if they beat STO and can squeek by Morris; but I don't see how they'll be able to beat out Central in RRO record and QOW if Central beats Wartburg.  That will likely mean a #8 seed for the Cobbers (assuming SJU wins out, also, because the committee will avoid intra-conference matchups), and a trip to McMinnville.  However, if Central loses to Wartburg, then Central has two losses and would join Cord/STO loser and UWEC/UWO as the next teams in, leaving Cord to take a better seeding.

Just to be a jackass: keep in mind that our "fluke" play was a damn near duplicate of your 75-yard "fluke" early in the game.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't make the playoffs, though. If CC wins out and doesn't get in, I'll be pretty disappointed myself.
Nice day, huh?

Whoa Nelly

It would be a Traveshamockery if Concordia did not make it in.  However - they do need to take care of business on Saturday.  You lay an egg and you won't have to worry about regional rankings.

They also have to make sure they remember to inhale and exhale the next weekend as Morris is coming to the F'dome.

Thanks for the welcomes back  ;)

But nobody answered my question about a tailgate....

Are there any tailgates happening this weekend?

By the way, how do you like my profile pic?  I am trying to get the infamous BE picture in my profile instead....

Maroon & Gold,

If that's how your "all conference"  DB's play then you will be more than WELCOMED  in McMinnville..
But we  would rather have Central, & sju..
Go Cats..

Hey I have all the respect in the world for the Cats.  And I hope the Cobbs get to make the trek out to the Catdome, because I want to see how we match up against you guys, like they say you have to beat the best to be the best.

I wouldn't count on any flukes if that game were to happen either.

If Concordia goes to McMinnville, they have a chance to duplicate SJU's 3-0 all-time record against the 'Cats--Linfield owns a 28-6 loss to the Cobbers in 1964 and a 24-23 loss to the Cobbers in 1978.

Are you sure you want Concordia, desertcat?  ;)

oh you know I'd take the cobbs over linfield any day!

Frank - A 5 day celebration? That can't beat Dan Myers' keg-a-day celebration for all of J-Term. They had some fun name for it, but I can't come up with it right now. Anyway, I'll be in Florida so I can't make it.

Speaking of Myers...he made his kick on Saturday at halftime to get $10,000. He did a victory lap around the end zone in front of the student section, gave high-fives and then signed some autographs. As a friend and former teammates said on Saturday, I guess good things do happen to bad people  :D

Sfury - Got your email but have been booked at work with all-area stuff and trying to get a hold of all the winter sports people. It wasn't a big deal, I just like to be dramatic :)

If the Cobbers win out, I hope they don't have to fly to McMinnville. It would be fun to see them play somewhere close, since I haven't got to see them play yet.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.
