Somehow the Johnnies recovered just fine after losing Blake Elliott, and it only took them a year to be back in serious championship contention.  We're losing a lot more than Elliott this year so we'll have to see.  A guy like Elliott's shoes never get filled any time soon and probably never.

It's not like Linfield was terrible before Elliott showed up....I think they won 4 straight NWC titles and were stop twice in the west regions finals by SJU.

Linfield will have a "rebuilding" year next year when they lose Elliott and 3 out of 4 starting WR's but Linfield will keep being a title contender....

What are the Royals going to do next year...keep that impressive 5-5 record intact?

Wow, I was just asking a question you tool!  Is your running back going to break the conference rushing record next year?  Probably not, but, oh wait, BU's RB will and probably be an All-American.  When you actually come from a competitive conference, it's harder to get to the playoffs! 

Yeah Porta...he's great and he's really lead the Royals to the promise land of .500 football 

BTW, how many teams in the MIAC have won the Stagg Bowl over the past 7 years?  Yeah, your conference is soooo much better than the NWC.

You'd know something about "Elliott envy", wouldn't you? Two years ago after watching John pull out the "Blake in the backfield" trick, 'Cats fans everywhere sulked back to Oregon with just that. However, your Elliott hasn't beaten us. Ours had a hand in beating you at least twice.

Bus- I'm such an outdoors hick, that I feel like I could be from Wisconsin. So, no, unfortunately, the Finsmobile will not be going to Whitewater since I am going to Beltrami to build 2 new spearing houses with a friend for my boys. Then the following weekend (Concordia game?) I will be "up nort" for the spearing opener, trying to harpoon the big tuna on Lake Kabetogama. So, sorry to disappoint, but I've already beat you by 2:1 at least on games attended. Try to hold up your end and I'll see you on the 10th and 17th.

Yes, you've made your point. We missed the playoffs last year. But since we're talking about the past, had you folks done your jobs in '00 and '01, our Elliott would have taken you down four times instead of just two. But, as it stands, those four consecutive West Region title games we won were devoid of Wildcats half the time.
