Bus Driver, my mistake. You are correct, sir! :) Thanks for setting the record straight.

And who did I just get off the phone with?? Buck Rock`n Roll Zumhofe, a pro wrestler who I wrestled with in high school. He is now into "novelty" wrestling. He has as part of his crew two midgets, his daughter and another woman and a giant (over 7 feet tall). They are booked every weekend through January here in Minnesota. Sounds like something we could line up for the Stiftungsfestivities next fall in Collegeville. Might also be a potential employment opportunity for Bethel grads.

Fins Vs. Buck  (Coral Reefer V. Quiet Riot Boom Box Match)
Duff and Ritz ("The Number Twins") V. The 2 midgets and the Giant
Bus V. The Daughter (with special guest referee Johnnie Red) "The Real Girls Wear Pink Match!!"

Let's wrestle!!!!

Think Laker would go for that???? ;D

ROR, I didn't hear any music in the background, so he probably had the boom box turned off when he was on the phone with me.

Ritz, maybe we could get Laker to make a guest appearance and set up a feature match with AO. I know that would draw.

So were those midgets I watched wrestle last night at The Lodge downtown part of his crew? It was...bizarre, to say the least. Let's just say there was a staple gun involved.
Nice day, huh?

Bus - Who's that stud as your avatar? The greatest Tornado to ever cross the state of Minnesota??
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Regarding the paraphrasing, quoting in the SC Times story, it looks like it must just be a glitch with their website because there aren't any quote marks in the story, despite some obvious quotes. The same thing happened in one of their stories a few weeks ago. So I don't think it has anything to do with bad writing or poor journalism or Frank R. forgetting how to use quotes. Just bad technology.

After my initial reactionary comment, I eventually came to this conclusion. It's good to know the SCTimes is as high-quality as ever ;)

Hey, at least their computers are relatively currently (I'm guessing anyway). Mine honestly takes 5-10 minutes to start up it's so old. Surprisingly, it makes me cranky enough to rip TDT as frequently as possible.

Bennie looks like enough people (from and outside of Linfield) have had enough from those dudes that stand right behind the visitor's bench.

Congrats to the Johnnies and the Cobbers this year.  From what I've read it didn't sound like the Johnnies played the way any of us expected them to play.  I would fully expect the game to have a much different game story (notice, not necessarily promising a victory) but, with the weapons that they have coming back should make yet another run next year.  Congrats also to the Cobbers.  It sounds like you proved that the MIAC has more than just one quality team.

As far as the trash talking subject goes.  I think that the game of football brings out a lot of emotions.  Players get excited when they score and say the first thing that comes to mind.  To me it's like watching the Gophers celebrate at mid-field after winning the Sun Bowl, or what ever second rate bowl they always get in to, and seeing a large number of them smiling for the camera with their pointer finger raised, as in signaling that they're number one.  I don't think that they really believe in those situations that they are the #1 ranked team in the nation.  Rather, it is the euphoria and confidence that comes from making a good play, or winning a game.

The Cobbers came in here and thrashed us.  I do not recall any of their players talking trash.  Perhaps it is because we were at the bottom of the conference and they were up 28 - rip at the end of the first quarter.  I'm sure that the emotional level was slightly higher this past saturday - the #1 ranked team in the nation, defending national champs, on their field, second round of national playoffs.....   Things said were more of an indication of the excitement brought out because of the situation......   bored with that, I think you get my point.

Kilted- as a Med school student, what do you think of the new doctor shows, Grey's Anatomy or House.  My wife is about to start P.A. school this summer and is completely addicted to them so I lose my TV on Tuesday and Sunday nights.  But, they actually are pretty good shows.

Wow, rambling.

Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Just want to throw this out there, but has anyone else noticed what has happened to PLU since Frosty retired? Is there any potential that this could happen to SJU after John retires?

I'm glad that someone took the initiative to inform your SID and that he actually printed something regarding Linfields troubled fans.

It was downright disgraceful to be on the sideline and hear what those guys were saying to the players and Cobber Fans.

I have never experienced such disrespect towards competitors and their fans, and I have been a multiple sport athlete my whole life.

Wildcat faithfuls should step up and say something themselves instead of letting those fans tarnish the name and tradition of Linfield.

JJ--I don't think anything will happen to the SJU program for some time.  Even if John retires soon, his son will most likely take over in my mind.  They have a reputation there and kids will want to play at SJU.  I think SJU will be a dominant program for a long time.  In saying that, Concordia is on it's way of becoming a dominant program as well.  Horan is building a great future for football in Moorhead.  He has spent a lot of time getting great football equipment and weight room equipment.  Cobber football is going in the right direction.  That's all I got.

Wow, the military must really be hard up.  I just got this email:
