Maybe a poster should lose the ability to smite after their karma level drops below -50?

Duff,

You have so many posts that it's not necessary to pad your numbers with your post asking where everyone is today.  If you didn't have TDT smiting capabilities then, without question, it would make sense.

I'm here, though, in answer to your question.
Go Johnnies!!!

Willy Wonka

I'm here as well. Sadly TDT seems to be winning our smiting battle. He goes down a lot each day, whereas I just go down one. He's the sick bastige that LIKES punishment though.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Touchdown Tommy

Rumor that won't die:  So Willy Wonka is at a party in Minneapolis (i know oxymoron you voracious readers of Post Patterns) with former Johnnie great Jed Riegs this past Saturday.  They are chasing babes all evening with the skill of Freebird (not much).  Apparently former PP poster "sjusuperstar" outta the blue wants to know who TDT is.  "Whose that crazy animal Touchdown Tommy?" This goes on into the wee hours of the morn 5am Central.  Willy has his cell on speed dial to reach TDT so that superstar can speak with him  (in an obviously inebriated state).  At the last moment Willy has better judgement come over him and he does not allow superstar to awake TDT at the ungodly hour of 6am on a Sunday morn.

SJUSuperstar?  What ever happened to that dork?  I'll bet he is best buds with WW now!

Veek, how's the fishing been up in LF.  Duffman has been holding his own on the crappies down here, and he did respectably well with some walleyes last week.  Now he seems to have caught a cold which has sidelined his adventures.

Veek

Duff,  I don't get out like I would like to.  I rented a house on Mille Lacs overnight last week but only caught an eelpout at 3:30 a.m.

I take that back.  I only caught an eelpout and a buzz!  I live on the Mississippi south of LF and from what I have heard this was the worst ice fishing season on this stretch of the river.  The dam in LF was open more than usual so the current was stronger than normal which must have displaced the fish.

Go Johnnies!!!

DuffMan

That's too bad.  I guess you've got to get out before you have kids, huh?  You can fish vicariously through me.

Veek,

There used to be a guy who wasn't all there that walked around LF all winter with nothing on but a t-shirt, no matter how cold.

Seems to me he went missing and they found him downstream, maybe around by you.

My wife when she was a teen nubile used to play football on some sand bars just south of town.

Touchdown Tommy

O wise Veek,

You ice fish on the Mississippi?  That is borderline nuts.  The current is moving constantly even when the river looks frozen over (TDT knows as his family lives on the Mississippi in Anoka and managed to scare him sh!tless of falling into that freezing water when he was young).  That is one of the 3 ways that TDT does not want to die doing.

1. Drowning/hypothermia
2. In a Fire
3. Macalester Scots beating St. John's in football

Veek-how are you? How is your dad? Looking forward to more beverages from the Denali this year. Hopefully, I can make it up there more times than TDT. ;D

Veek

Zip,

Great hearing from you.  I'll make sure the Denali is stocked with plenty of cold ones when you're here.  You should try and make it for one of the first two games if you can.  If you need a place to stay you can bunk at my house.  Only 35 minutes from Collegeville.

TDT - the stretch of the river that I live in is more like a lake in that there is only 10 miles of river between two dams.  While there is always some current in the winter it is not a problem being on ice down by my house.  There are even guys who drive on it.  I snowmobile on it but leave the driving to others.
Go Johnnies!!!

Johnnie Red

So I'm walking through the Denver airport yesterday prior to catching my flight back to Mpls. I see a young man and his mother walking towards me. He has on a red St. John's Johnnie t-shirt. Of course I think he is a Johnnie.

I approach him and ask him if he is a Johnnie. He says he is not, but that he and his mother just got back to Denver from a trip this past weekend to visit Collegeville since he is considering it for college. His mother says they just loved it and it was number one on his list for colleges. The son totally agrees.

Always nice to be at the right place at the right time. Of course, I gave him my pitch and told him he would never regret going there and would love the experience.

Touchdown Tommy

alright Veek I'll buy that.  But I am gonna be one pissed off Johnnie if you fall through the ice and hence can't drive the Denali to Collegeville or assorted away games  ;).

Johnnie Red,

Was said prospect a 5 star football recruit?  I sure hope we aren't competing with Bethel or Macalester for his services...

FYI: TDT made it to 4 games last season.  Keep raggin on me fellas.  I will betcha I make more games than 56321 this season (30 pk of Hamm's on it??, i know you have football to coach but fly in and out on a red eye if need be).  Tentatively scheduled the UWEC game on Labor Day weekend into the schedule.  I presume OAS will keep his streak alive with NO appearances in Collegeville this season.  Those Augsburg vs. Carleton games sure can be thrilling!!

Willy Wonka

I'll substantiate said rumor concerning Mr. Willy Wonka's late night excursion. My inaugural conversation with "sjusuperstar" consisted of him telling me he's an NFL draft guru who has 8 draft websites bookmarked, including ESPN Insider. He got rejected by a local draftnik when he offered his free "expertise" on the matter, but is considering doing a mock draft this year anyway.

Mr. Riegs is still competing with Mr. Wonka for biggest WR to play in the MIAC who can still pound Mr. Duffman.

Where's ROR? Is he on constant watch of his dual daughters after my last post? He's been MIA for DAYS now...
