I have been gone for a while, wondering if there is any news out of Collegeville on the new AD yet?

Maroon and Gold, any truth to the rumor the Larson kid from Fergus is going to get switched to the defensive side?

Does Jessie Nelson have a shot at the qb job at Cobber?

WW--it almost sounds like you're proud that a Mayo Spartan is at STO.  Don't tell me your high school ties are stronger than GAC.  ps, remember when we lived across from eachother and all you did was play madden?  that was sweet.

Zima and Mich Ultra?  Might as well put on a diaper and have a rattle with them too.
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job

From what I understand it is Rodel's job unless Nelson comes out and really wows the coaches in the fall. After watching him in mop up duty this season, I am convinced that he is gonna be a really good QB, maybe not this year, but definitely the year after.

Mongo - I remember those days fondly. Do you also recall Guthrie walking by saying "Erm, let's keep it down guys" and closing our doors if we had them open past 10 pm? That chump.

I also recall working you, Diercks and Sam Jones in Mario Kart on Nintendo Nights every Friday as freshman. Didn't you once stuff Sam in a garbage and he couldn't get out? Where has the time gone...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Hey Duff, it's been awhile, but anyway, what's your take on Kurt's wanting to try Gag's style at Carleton? I think one of the biggest reasons it works for John is the caliber of atheletes he gets and the shear number of players he has to choose from. Don't know of to many D-I or D-II prospects who give up a ride to go play at Carleton and I think they got about 50-60 players. I hope it works out for him, will just put more credibility in John's philosophy. It's late and my spelling sucks so I'll quit, just wondering what other ex-John deciples thought.

Thought some people might enjoy this article on Elliott, so here.

No, not THAT Elliott. I meant the good one. Silly Johnnies :)

Stolen truck found; beer intended for Menomonie gone

WEST BEND (AP) - Authorities are hoping to break up what must be quite the party after beer thieves made off with almost $26,000 worth of suds from a delivery truck.

A semi trailer loaded with cans and bottles of Miller beer was stolen from a trucking company in Richfield, according to a Washington County Sheriff's Department report. The trailer was found four days later - sans beer - at an Oak Creek trucking firm.

The trailer had been dropped off at the Millis Transfer Co. sometime on Feb. 17 for delivery to a beer distributor in Menomonie, authorities said. Later that night, the trailer was discovered missing.

Company officials didn't report the loss immediately because they thought a driver must have picked up the wrong load.

The sheriff's department is investigating with Oak Creek authorities and Miller officials, said Sheriff's Capt. Dale Schmidt.

The missing product, valued at $25,788, included:

- 384 24-packs of Miller Genuine Draft cans

- 560 eight-packs of MGD 12-ounce bottles

- 980 eight-packs of MGD 12-ounce cans

- 40 24-packs of Miller Light 16-ounce plastic bottles

Just to clarify this story, Mr. Jones was actually a 5-4 100-pound foreigner of SE Asian heritage. Mongo didn't like his name and tried to "Americanize" him by giving him a better one. Thus, Sam Jones was born as an 18-year-old freshman.

I'm not sure what the kid liked best about his first year at college, but I think Mongo's creativity and his being stuff headfirst into a plastic garbage can and being too drunk to get himself out rank right near the top.

With thoughts of MIKE JONES! running through my head, I'm second guessing myself. Was his name Casey Jones, Frank Jones or Sam Jones, Mongo? Give us the story on how this all started.

Interesting article on Linfield's Elliot not getting invited to the combine. How does a Ryan Hoag get invited but not a Brett Elliot? I know.... 40 yd split.
BTW, I saw Hoag playing in a flag football league at the U and he was getting used by kids who probably didn't even play in high school.

Originally named Sia, I made this kid be known as Frank Jones because I didnt like his name and I told him that an American name would help him with the ladies.  My two favorite stories about him were 1) after the 2 beers we gave him, his 90 pound body was wasted, and he started talking about x-rated films.  He asked me if I'd seen "throbbing hood".  2) Severson and I put him in a box, closed it, placed it in Stewbaucca's room, and had Frank jump out and yell "kill whitey!"...all so he could play dreamcast.

This just in...a truck full of wine coolers and pink shirts has been stolen.  Police are already looking
for TDT
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job
