Hey Everybody-
My humble apologies for going off today on the board. Some of what I said was uncalled for and I regret getting whacked here. I must've got the placebo today. Couple of cold brews tonight got me back in the groove.
So anyhoo...peace to all and sorry about the childish crap.

Uh huh. By the way, I only smited you twice. You must have other people who think you were childish as well.

Guess I should do what the people here do, and smite someone every 18 hours even if they haven't posted on your board in days, weeks or months. That's pretty damn lame, frankly.

I've had 9.  Picked up a case of Blatz Light and a case of Gluek Ice for the weekend.  Trying to expand my "cheap beer" horizon.  Also, that way you don't have to worry about anyone else sneaking your beer.

Blatz light was one of my beers of choice when low on money.  Since I'm still low on money, I guess it's still one of my main choices when I get back to MN.   Not horrible.

Frank--I've had 9, thanks to my period of NA beers

Wonka--I did catch Atmosphere on Conan.  Rob Zombie on Letterman last night was better.
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job

I don't get why our excessive use of the karma feature pisses you off so much.  What the hell difference does it make to you if we're smiting someone daily or applauding our friends?  Does it matter if we're childish?  I, for one, could care less what you think of me, and I think many of us agree.

Karma is at 186 as I make this post.  Let's see where it goes from here.

I believe it's probably unwarranted to smite someone who hasn't posted in months. But don't worry, we'll make changes to the karma feature to take care of karma inflation.

For someone who thinks use of the karma feature shouldn't matter, you seem awfully interested in tracking it ...

Bottom line is this: This board has the biggest karma crybabies on the site. You guys can dish it out but you sure as heck can't take it. If I wanted to smite someone five times, sure, I could do it. There are a couple moderator accounts at my disposal. But for some reason, you guys seem to think that a few smites at once is somehow different than clockwork smiting someone every 18 hours.

There isn't anyone on the site whom I have applauded or smited even once every 72 hours, on average, let alone once every 18, I'm sure. So just because I don't applaud or smite someone like clockwork doesn't mean I'm not going to reserve my right, say, to smite or applaud someone for every deserving post that they make.

Otherwise, if you like, I'll just set an alarm to come back and smite people, the way that some of you people do. You know who you are.

Lively day on the MIAC board today.

Duff, in the pictures from your 2000th post could that have been the one time that I beat you or was it the next round?  It probably will never happen again but I was flying high for about 1/2 hour until you reclaimed your top spot.

Regarding the karma discussion it is enjoyable being able to smite or applaud someone but I don't understand why anyone would care how people use it, or abuse it, for that matter.  Prizes are not awarded for high karma counts nor are there repercussions to those with negative karmas.  Let it remain as it is and if someone doesn't like it they can either smite, applaud, or abstain from using it.

Go Johnnies!!!

For the record, who has this ubiquitous "we" been smiting that hasn't posted in months, as you so casually throw out there? To the best of my knowledge, some posters have reserved this unalienable posting right to one very perverse, pink-loving flower child who you just happen to hold a grudge against. I believe he posted last about a week or so ago, which — if Bert's California math/drunken stupor method of counting still holds true — is far less than 30+ days.

We didn't ask for the smite/applaud ability with the new boards. We are simply using what someone created for our own amusement. That is, afterall, what this site is all about, right?

What's next, giving us a tree with luscious fruit and telling us we can look, but not touch? Touch, but not taste? Taste, but not swallow (this one gets the Bennies every time)? These are the rules that we 'sposed to follow? (Shout out to Jeffery Atkins for that last paragraph)

(I just spent far more time crafting this post that I did on any article for tomorrow's paper. I'm an idiot.)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

And I'll take MY ball and go home!
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Mongolian Warrior, no, I did not see U2 on Conan the other night. I would have to stay up past 9:00 p.m. to do that. :'(

In terms of the list of the worst beers, I was happy to see TDT's favorite: Bootie Light.

Remember to make it to St. Paul on Sunday, June 4 for Grand Old Day. Great way to kick off the summer.

True dat!  My karma has no bearing whatsoever on my life.  This site is made for fun and enjoyment (or so I thought).  I applaud you (Pat) for creating a site that has allowed me to meet many new friends and gives me something to do during my down times at work, and karma has been a fun little addition to that.  If anyone is getting depressed (or an over-inflated ego) over karma, then they really need some help!

Maybe we need to create a new thread called "Karma Counseling."  :D

On an unrelated note, the following thought just crossed my mind:

Is it acceptable to shorten Stiftungsfestivities to 'festivities?

2 years of med school, an entire semester of reviewing for this damn test and it all comes down to 400 questions starting today at 11:30 AM Central Standard Time.

1 Rat and all that stands between him and summer is 400 questions submitted by med school profs from all over the country.

One way or another, I'll be drinking a lot of Hamm's tonight, the grocery store by me just started stocking it yesterday!!! If that isn't a sign from God I don't know what is!

I would just like to ask the Catholics of this board to say a prayer for me, and if the Lutherans could think of me, that would be nice too  ;D

I also just learned that my first 2 week rotation will be September 4th-15th in St. Paul, making it very likely that I will be at the Stiffyfest season opener against the Blugolds as well as the next week against whatever the hell UWRF calls themselves and probably even the following week at Auggie Tech State.

Hi Pat.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Hi Loser

Hey Bud. I'll give you a prayer and have a Hamm's in your honor tonight on the porch at the lake. Let the Karma that really matters be with you.
