For MR and WW -- Hate to find myself on the side of PC but the article focuses on two football players who played on Cortland State's national championship lacrosse team, so it seems to me there's an adequate connection to football.

You don't appreciate lacrosse?  Fine.  But in D3 you'll find a number of footall players also play lacrosse, and you'll find overlap in the coaching staffs as well.  Maybe not in the MIAC but it's true for a number of other D3 schools.

I don't notice anyone complaining when baseball gets brought up here.

Quit sucking up, tmerton.
And besides, baseball's a real sport. You can watch it, and play it for that matter, while drinking beer. And even if you are in your 40's, teams still want you:http://sports.aol.com/mlb/story/_a/clemens-astros-agree-on-one-year-deal/20060531120509990001
What's to complain about?  ;D

Any news on the upcoming season and how the MIAC will fair in the grand scheme of things (i.e. playoffs)?

Yup, SJU will dominate again and advance deep into the playoffs. Bethel will be done in time for Thanksgiving yet again.

I'll save a seat for ya on the SJU bandwagon, will you be climbing on board immediately following the Nov 11th game or should I expect you some time that following week?

We've already seen what happens when an Elliot graduates from a team.  Regular season lossed keep the Wildcats out of the playoffs in '06.

Lacrosse?  Why not have a front page about soccer?  Because they suck, thats why.

Frank--when is this site going to be sponsored by Hamms?  Come on already. I'm voting you to be in charge of this.
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job

Dressed like the guy in your avatar, air's the only thing you'll ever be humping... besides hot posters of Princess Laya (sp?).

I look forward to your cats continuing their successful ways against SJU.
I wasn't even alive the last time the Cats beat SJU... come to think of it, neither was Gags or even Frosty, they never have beaten SJU and they never will.

Feel free to store that quote in hopes someday you can rub my face in it, but like TDT's "Luvin' mix CD" I helped him make sophmore year it will never be used.

Kudos, Mongo. Minnesota misses a rational mind like yours (though if you rip the World Cup we may have to have words as we rip golf balls at TDT in July...)

I didn't realize posting on a web site for a few months made someone the Minister of D3 Knowledge. My bizzle  ::)

PS - How soon until son makes father quit posting? I got an over/under of 2 days into fall camp, when he hears about this site.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

We ran a story a couple years ago about Brandon Novak winning a national title in wrestling. I don't recall any complaints then.

tmerton,
I understand the whole reasoning behind the article, but who gives a rip...what about all the football players around the nation who win national titles or All-region titles in Track and Field, Baseball, etc, etc, etc.  The simple fact is that I could give a rip about 2 players who play lacrosse at Cortland and win the national championship.

We wrote about them, too.

I bet Cortland fans could give a rip about Bethel stories, too, but we still run them.

Well, that was a story about a Johnnie, hence it was a story of universal interest and appeal. Who'd complain about that?  ;D
