Willy Wonka

The posting today has been nice. I attribute it to KR's return. Thanks :)

However, TDT always claims I'm the only one to rip him. I think today has proved that's FAR from true. Thanks for that as well fellas, and keep it up :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

My bad, Kiltedrat!   (Note the spelling)

So you just finished your first year of med school?  Is med school 3 or 4 years now?  I misunderstood what the big test was you just studied your a$$ off for.    So you still have time to practice your golf game before M.D. follows your name!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Confirmed plans with Mrs. BDB for me to attend the SJU-UWRF game. I played it just like the commercial where the guy gets out of shopping for an engagement ring by suggesting to his honey that they shop for a gift for her mother instead.

"How about we drive up to your dad's place (in Little Falls) early September." I slipped in there that I was planning to take in a Johnnies game at the same time.

Looking forward to crashing the pre-game festivities. I'll bring my own Hamm's.

Love and marriage is a sweet science.  ;)

KR, I have a friend enrolled in a 7 year dual PhD/MD program at Tufts (DIII school in Boston, for those that care)... Now being an aspiring doctor yourself... can you explain to 'Gro why someone would want to subject themselves to such academic torture?

No f'in clue. I'm sick of med school after only 2 years, couldn't imagine adding another 3 onto that crap!

I was accepted to a place in Ohio straight out of high school that did college and Med school in 6 years. After talking with a couple docs I know, the overwhelming consensus was that the 6 year program would have sucked a$$, and karma direwcted me to MN where I fell in love with SJU, Johnnie Football, D3 football, Hamm's,... crap I know I'm forgetting something... oh yeah, and Mrs KR.

WW,
I'd love to think that's true, but I don't really believe my postings have been that instrumental as of late. +k to you regardless.

I like to view myself as being like a catalyst in a chemical reaction (Duff and Admit should love this crap I'm flinging), quality posting can occur without me being here, I just lower the activation energy required for it to occur anmd sort of facilitate it. ;D

I just finished my 2nd year of med school. The 1st 2 years are primarily lecture based then you take Step 1 boards which you have to pass to start clinical rotations.

3rd and 4th years are clinical rotations. At some point in early 4th year, you take Step 2 boards which you have to pass to graduate.

During the 1st or 2nd year out of Med school (so early residency or during your internship) you take step 3 boards.

Basically a crapload of hoops to jump through, but supposedly each step of boards gets easier... good lord I hope so!

Golfing went decent, played 9 and had the first birdie of my fledgling (sp?) golf career.
I definitely need to get some practice in before I graduate, at least get to the point where I can hit the damn ball with every swing!

No MD here, I'm going to a DO school. Either way you take the same courses, take the same or similar board exams, do the same rotations, and you're a fully qualified physician licensed in all 50 states and can do any specialty you want. http://www.osteopathic.org/index.cfm?PageID=ado_main about DO's vs MD's if you're interested. Basically DO's started out as what Chiropractor's are now and over the last 100 years merged into the MD world and now are more or less like MD's with different letters after their name. Kind of like dentist's who are DMD's vs DDS.

Now Mrs KR and I are in MN for a week of relaxing on the shores of Green Lake (Home of Melvin's which may become a Zorba's). Many bevys in red cups shall be raised over the coming week.

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

What a great day! The home opener is 3 months from today, it's as gorgeous a day as one can ever get in Minnesota, and I just read that I may live forever.

Please join us all later for a cold Hamm's, as we sit around the campfire and Willy Wonka leads us in singing "Kumbaya".

Whoa Nelly

I once thought I had seen the mountain top of coolness until I read this article...

I think that sales tax increase would make it through the house/senate without conflict.

I agree Duff.
Who doesn't, when they think "air guitar", immediately think "Minneapolis"?

I don't.

During my college days I was usually a more mellow air guitarist and played the air bass guitar, with my wrist cocked and my elbow up.

Does any team in the MIAC run the wishbone?

If not, have the Johnnies seen a wishbone offense in recent years?

DuffMan

Who in the hell would run the wishbone? ;)   Ohhhhhhhhh, you mean UW-RF.  I'll be very interested to see what they bring to Collegeville.

They have been running the bone for 20 years at least, and are very proficient at it.

River Falls has a tough time getting non-conference games because of the bone. For the past  few years they've had to play a couple D-2 schools per year to fill out the schedule.

It will not be a cake walk for the home team.
