A little late for Memorial Day but a good memory still (even if it does relate to the Dodgers).  This can also be held for July 4th.

tmerton, that was a wonderful selection. That should be the theme song for the entire D3football website. The Johnnies already have the winningest coach in the history of college football, the national player of the year award in honor of our coach, and THE place to watch D3 football in the nation according to Sports Illustrated. Having the "Fight you Johnnies, Fight" song play every time someone comes on to the D3football.com site makes a lot of sense to me.

Perhaps there's a sponsorship/product placement type deal to be worked out. :)

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Pat, that is an excellent idea. You probably already know the procedure. Whenever anyone logs on to d3football.com, in addition to hearing the Johnnie Fight song, there will be a directive to click to a certain page on a particular region/topic. If the person does that and one of your advertisers has an imprint on that page, they can email you for a prize or simply pick it up at the next Stagg Bowl.

Once again, this idea originated at St. John's and is something that all the Johnnie fans really appreciate during the games. :P As mentioned last January, I was amazed when I was at the Capital1 Bowl with my Badger son on January 2 and got the directive from the PA announcer to turn to a specific page in my program and see if the page was stamped for a particular advertiser so I could pick up a prize.

Another example of why baseball is a great sport. Don't see many videos of LaCrosse players saving the flag from some hippies. :D

LaCrosse is in Cheeseland.  And the sport of lacrosse, which plays its championship games on Memorial Day weekend, would not tolerate hippie flag burning as everyone at Dodger Stadium besides Rick Monday was apparently prepared to do (it would have taken Tommy Lasorda 20 minutes to get to them  :D).   Two years ago Navy was in the lax finals - that would have made an interesting time to try burning the flag.  ::)

I actually got to be in court this morning with a former Viking running back, Rickey Young. Felony counts of failure to pay child support and contempt of court. Don't see this too often. He is in arrears to the tune of something like $115,000 for back child support.

While waiting for the judge to come out, I was introduced to his bodyguard. Evidently you can hire these guys on a per hour basis. Might be something for Touchdown Tommy to consider next time he shows up at the Stiftungsfestivities.

Glad we don't see former MIAC players in court on criminal
charges. Possible exception? You tell me. ::)

And how could I forget to mention THE summer festival for all the Cobber fans in the metro area?!!! Yes, you have it right: Winstock in Winsted, Minnesota. Featured bands include Diamondback, The Beer Daddys, Roy Clark, Terri Clark and my favorite country band, Lynyrd Skynyrd.

It is this Friday and Saturday. Winsted is in McLeod County and close to Lester Prairie, Waverly, Silver Lake and Howard Lake. Quite the town if you like to party.

You've got to be kidding me! What the hell does he need a body guard for? Unless his ex was going to be present and he was afraid she might shoot him. Seems if he has the dough for a body guard, he could cough up a bit for his kids.
Not too many years ago, Rickie was selling cars for a metro Ford dealer. (My partner is still driving the Explorer he bought from him.)Wonder if his body guard followed him around the sales lot. ???

Johnnie Red-
Was watching the news last night and they had some footage from Grand Old Day. Was that you pushing the shopping cart with a keg in it? :o

Coach Fins,

How did the Scheels team do in the double header over the weekend?

I coach my son's Little League team. He's got a swing like Joe Mauer.  ::)
