Rumor floating through WIAC land, relevant to the SJU-UWRF game.....

The tale goes that through the spring practice season, RF ran every offensive play out of the shotgun. Not a single play out of the wishbone.

Now, I'll believe this when I see it, since RF has run the wishbone for like 30 years.

And, their O-linemen tend to be shorter guys more set up for digging at the knees and ankles of the D-line, not pass protection.

We shall see.

The Five Secrets of a Perfect Relationship
1. It's important to have a woman who helps at home, who cooks from time to time, cleans up and has a job.

2. It's important to have a woman who can make you laugh.

3. It's important to have a woman who you can trust and who doesn't lie to you.

4. It's important to have a woman who is good in bed and who likes to be with you.

5. It's very, very important that these four women don't know each other.

So I'm at our Rotary meeting today, which happened to be our annual high school senior scholarship day. The students honored get up and explain what they are going to be doing this coming fall.

There is a couple there who I know and who also happen to be good Catholics. Their daughter gets up and indicates to the crowd that she will be attending Bethel this fall. As you might expect, I almost fell over from the shock. :o

After the program I went up to the parents and asked them why their daughter did not enroll at St. Ben's. They told me their daughter thought St. Ben's was too liberal and she wanted to go to a school that is more conservative. They also added that she did consider Northwestern in Roseville but they did not allow dancing so she decided not to enroll there. Hopefully she understands that dancing at Bethel is limited to jumping up and down in the stands at the football stadium. ;)

Well, if Notre Dame can have a Muslim football player from MN, then I suppose a Catholic girl can go to Bethel.  Wonder what she'll do when they try to re-baptize her.  :D

Fins - it will be longer than three months as that is only his sentence.  Morrison County was somehow able to impose a one year ban on issuing any owner an alcohol license at that location.  I'm certain that your great skills could put many holes in that armour but that is the word on the street.

It won't bother me at all, however, as I have never been in that establishment.  Mention a few clubs in the Cities and you might hear a different story from me. ;)

Go Johnnies!!!

Mighty Royal, I know the Catholics can get along with the Baptists. Given the experience we had in finally getting along with the Missouri Synod Lutherans, Baptists are not a problem.

I should add that I have a framed copy of the Star Tribune article and photo from a few years ago when the Royals beat the Johnnies for the second and last time ever in my office next to all the Johnnie memorabilia I have. A friend of mine, who is a Bethel grad and who is a local minister here (Westwood Church), gave it to me to remind me that miracles can happen, as if I didn't know that as a Catholic boy.

Today's random thoughts.....

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see 'em tumble down the stairs.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird.  Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about him?

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?
