Is it true that the La Playette is now officially closed for good?  I haven't been through St. Joe in a while. :'(

A tradition unrivaled...

That's word on the street.
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

It has been closed. For good? We'll see. Some things are cookin'. Any buyers out there? Partners in the all new Finsleft La Koolaid Club?

I would have to assume that Johnnie Esq. is happy today given St. Anthony's pounding of Paynesville in the Class 2A baseball championship yesterday. I was at the Sleepy Eye-St. Mary's vs. Bertha Hewitt game for the Class 1A championship in Jordan.

I am very proud of those boys.  I coached a few of them in basketball, and look where it got them-- to be good baseball players!!! Very little recognition though-- the SC Times article about the game was in a somber mood discussing Paynsville's loss, and the Strib was more concerned with the 3A title game, as was the Pioneer Press.  Congrats to an underdog team that did well-- and by the way, our coach, Troy Urdahl, is a Piper!!!

I was in Collegeville for a wedding and we tried stopping into the La, but it was barracaded shut.  Not looking good guys.

Never will understand this- you've got a college-oriented bar (no food to speak of-just booze) in a pretty vibrant college town, and you have good facilities to host wedding receptions all summer long.  Combine that with a good staff and even half-decent management and you should be able to make a little money!!

But this is coming from a lowly Natty Sci/Ed major-one of the management braintrust out there explain it to me, would ya?

Fins, did you grab any memorabilia when it closed?

No bar looks good when it's closed. Watch for the pheonix to rise from the ashes.

If it was so easy, everybody would be doing it.

Didn't get any memorabilia....yet.

Mongo: Have u moved to Chaska now that you have decided to return to MN?  Just tell them you know The Godfather and you are as good as gold.  PS-Wonka is eagerly awaiting your response regarding golf.

Johnnie Red; Did you behave yourself at Floyd's?  My sources tell me you were smooching all the MILFs in hopes that they would leave their husbands in jail for the G-father...

Ritzy,

Have u seen Veek lately?  I am getting a little worried about him in this "purgatory" time before Football season.  An APB will be posted if he doesnt post some witty remarks soon.

Happy Figgin Father's Day to all!!!

Some of you know your kids, some of you are paying for kids you fathered in Tijuana with Juanita, some of you will not admit it unless Jerry Springer gets you to take the test, and some of you are still in "practice mode" for fatherhood----

That sounds like a Jimmy Buffett song...Could you please categorize each poster into his/her appropriate category?  I have some idea, but some posters are a bit hazy...
Chasing MILFs since '82...

I had the good fortune to walk into the La a week ago Saturday for what was seemingly the last night they were open.  It was a free-for-all.  People were grabbing their own drinks behind the bar and I saw at least three neon signs ripped off the walls and quickly removed from the premises.

I'm sure you were not involved in any of the debauchery, right, Wooderson?  By the way, rumor has it that your sis is dating "Mr. Shower Cobra" aka "The Wristwatch."  Can you confirm?

10-4 Duff, they have been seen about town.  If any shenanigans occur, I know I can get John after him with some choice words!

I am now officially in mourning.   :'(

The La is one of only 2 bars I have ever been forceably evicted from.
