After much contemplation, I have determined that the answer to my problem lies either at the bottom of a beer can or in the bottom of a golf hole, so I am taking 24 of one to go play 18 of the other with 3 buddies to see if we can find said answer.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Absolutely the best way to squeak out some semblance of a win from this lose/lose situation!  Further remind MRSKR that it is a good excuse to limit social time during the weekend.  "I'd love to chat more,  Mom KR, but I really should get back to the books.   I'll just take my Hamms and a plate of food back to my room now......."

Tell her, good luck with the test......

By the way, the Dumb and Dumber costumes were fabulous.......or was that the prom?     ;D ;D ;D

KR, While not giving specific advice on you exact situation coming up, I do know exactly what you are going through.

Used to be, people married and lived amongst their extended families within a short distance. That hasn't been the case for a couple decades now.

My bride and I have always had the pull between the parents, especially at X-Mas time. We found ourselves spending the most of X-mas Day on the road just so we could "touch base" with both sets of parents.

Finally, we put our foot down. You have lived/living your life, we deserve ours. We are going to go/be where it makes the most sense. Don't take it personally. You have more free time, come visit us. (Be a little careful with that one)

Anyway, you can't live your life to make your parents, and Mrs. KR's parents happy. Basically impossible.

Keep your wife happy, the rest will work out.

Side note: how many times will the SC Times mention how long Gagliardi has been coaching football this season?  I'm going to go an average of at least twice per week once the season starts.

If it ends in 9165, then i have it. I will definitely give you a call. Mrs KR will have studying to do, which leaves her brothers and I with lots of free time. You gonna be in that neck of the woods I take it?
We'll have to see if JA can make it out too. He'll have to leave his assistant behind... unless she gets a permision slip signed by her mom  ;D

Good points. You'd think with my mom having lived 500 miles from her parents and her in-laws (3 miles apart from each other), she would understand distance and other commitments better... guess not.

Things I can say on here but never to Mama Rat; she is slowly turning into her mother-in-law... who attempted to ruin her life for the first 5 years of their marriage according to mama Rat. I gues only 4 years and 1 month to go  :-\

Thanks for the reminder. In fact several of my less than sober buddies at my wedding made the same offer :) I'll take it as a compliment.





UPDATE:

The answer to my problem was not at the bottom of any of the 18 holes, I also did not find it in multiple sand traps, water hazards, roughs, or backyards of people who live on the golf course.

Question for the "expert" golfers out there; What is it called when you hit the same house twice off the same tee (1st shot and mulligan)? I called it the 8th hole.

The answer was also not located at the bottom of the 24 cans the 4 of us consumed while golfing.
GOOD NEWS: An old guy at the clubhouse bar overheard me telling my buddies about the situation and said I should, "Join the military and get deployed, once your back your mom will be happy just to have you alive and she'll let you live your own life."


Since I'm already in the Navy, I just have to wait the 3 years until they can deploy me.

Well, it didn't work for me.  Vietnam?  Where's that?  My mother still thinks all of her sons should do what she says - she's simply now (at 89) resigned to the fact that we won't.  Doesn't make her think it's right, though.

I live about 20 mins. from Johnson Creek. There is a small tractor store and a meat market there. That's it. No gas station or anything. A school that was there is now a community center, and is probably where the big party is. Have fun!!

Powder blue was the rage in the 60s; stylish at the time. 

Orange for KR I think.
