Whoa Nelly,
Welcome to Karmaland. +k to officially welcome you properly.

It's an awesome responsibility, Nelly, but someone has to spread the cheer.  +k.

Getting back to our good buddy Rondell White, following his single in the 2nd tonight, he is currently leading the Twins with a .500 batting ave in July, upping his average to .196.

He corrected this wrong in the universe by immediately getting doubled off 1st base on a flyout.

The next best batting averages for the Twinks in July in case anyone cares are Morneau with .429 and Punto with .412.

Correction: Following a walk in the 4th inning, Rondell White was doubled off 1st base for the 2nd straight time.

Further correction: Rondell singled in the 7th to up his overall average to .200 on the season and .556 for July.

SUMMIT!!!!!

let's clarify something-- Rondell White is the DUMBEST base runner ever!! To get doubled up on line outs to CF & SS in the same game is beyond ridicuous. Granted the Tramps SS made a hell of a play, but the one to CF was inexcuseable
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.

No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly
140mph/225kmh in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.

Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground until a DVD release a few years ago. Click on this:

Make sure your sound is on, sit down, fasten your seat belt, and HOLD ON!!!!!

Heck that looks just like driving 35 or 94 thru downtown

Johnnie Red

Four more years for Johnnie Red! :D Always nice to run unopposed. Did give some thought to running for Attorney General yesterday, but decided I wanted to be at all the Stiftungsfestivities this fall instead of having to go door knocking every Saturday.

My sincere thanks to everyone on this board who donated to my campaign. The money raised will go towards the re-election party tentatively scheduled for Friday night, November 10. Hope to host it at the pavilion in Norwood Young America on the Stiftungsfest grounds. The Carver County Pork Producers will be grilling the pork chops for the event. We will also be having live music, possibly a bluegrass band. As Dusty would say, it is developing. Everyone on this board will be welcome to attend. Good party warmup for the Johnnie game on November 11 when SJU hosts my all-time favorite opponent, Bethel. :P

Congratulations JR! Will there be an appearance by the Carver County Pork Queen at your victory party? If so, I'm there!  8)

And I'll volunteer myself and Veek to do the grilling at the Bethel game, since you'll undoubtedly be too hungover to stoop over a hot grill.  ;)

Kilted Rat

Congrats JR!!!

I'll buy a pitcher of beers after our Softball doubleheader tonight in your honor. The mighty Des Moines University Demolition is looking to extend our perfect record to 0-8 with 7 losses by 1 run :-\ (the other loss was a 15 run mercy rule ending in the 3rd inning).

+k for the victory!

JR, congrats on your victory against the mighty competition!  :)

I'll bet you won all 3 debates put on by the League of Women Voters as well. +1k

KR, suffice it to say the Twins won't be calling up your softball team to fill out their roster.  :D

However, with the mighty karma powers of the MIACPP you managed to get Punto back in the line-up last night!

Kilted Rat

I don't want to take too much credit, but did anyone else notice our boy Kazmir get roughed up last night?

His ERA jumped from 3.27 to 3.40 as he gave up 7 hits and 4 ER over 6 innings.

In keeping with the theme, I present Jae Seo tonights starting pitcher for the D-rays blaspheming by putting a South Korean flag in the pitcher's mound of what is America's past-time.

KR, you haven't awarded a winner for the caption contest for last night yet.

My offer on this one:

... of what is America's past-time.

Should that be "was"?  Past-time indeed.   :D

Okay, which one of you wrote the Hamm's entry in Wikepedia?   ???

"Hamm's is often one of the cheapest beers found on the shelf - roughly $10-$12 for a 30-pack is common. This factor has made it enduringly popular with college students and other poor drunks."   :o

I note also that there is no Hamm's entry in the JohnnieWiki (although KR's entries are still there).  Which of you "poor drunks" is going to remedy this?  Fins?

Still looking for a store that sells Hamm's out here.
