Four more years for Johnnie Red! :D Always nice to run unopposed.

Congrats JR. I can vouch for running unopposed. I have done so twice for the local City Council. Beats the hell out of having to campaign. Non election year for me this year (this is also good).

+k for 4 more years
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

KR, you haven't awarded a winner for the caption contest for last night yet.

Butcher:  "Dude, all I am asking is that you hold one of them and I turn my head and cough, what's so hard about that?"

Yesterday's winner was MR with this gem. Anytime a turn your head and cough reference is used, you're probably guaranteed top 3 or better finish:)

Tmerton,
I checked yesterday and found my entries un-edited and un-removed and I was very impresses/surprised.
As far as your Hamm's search, I doubt you will get to savor the delicious goodness that is Hamm's premium lager until you come back to the Land of the Sky Blue Waters.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

JR,

Does this post bring back any memories of meeting in the parking lot in Maple Grove at 8PM looking like we were performing some sort of drug deal?

BTW, my buddy Dave who was in the car with me along with the rest of the guys and gal in the carpool were confused as to the purpose of the meat until they tasted it 36 hours and 1473 miles later.

Just reserved the pavilion at Norwood Young America for Friday night, November 10. That is a go! Also have a local restaurant/bar taking care of the cash bar and catering for everything but the pork chops. I will start working on the band for the evening. This should be a rocking event. ;)

Willy Wonka

Newsflash from TDT last night: Liriano is "filthy" and his stuff is "electric." Apparently his 10 previous wins and utter domination weren't enough to convince the doubting scouting guru, who also predicted KR's boy Rondell would be sicknasty during spring training.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Congrats JR....keep throwing some of those kooky criminals you tell us about behind bars  :)

Be wary of planning victory parties too prematurely... Although, I remember when I was a lad, the long-time mayor of my hometown was up for reelection, unopposed. He, too, planned a lavish celebration. On the day before Election Day, the owner of the town's funeral home/hardware store decided to run as a write-in candidate. He mimeographed off flyers and had his 6 kids (yes, they were Catholic) go door-to-door with then, urging people to vote for their dad. The undertaker/hammer salesman won 35-23, an obviously disappointing turnout. The mayor was stunned when the election juge (his wife) told him the result

But I'm not worried about anyone having the cajones to run against the JR Election machine--- anymore than I worry about any MIAC school south of Collegeville giving the Johnnies a battle this fall.  ;D

Would you have converted to DFL to run for Attorney General? if you had, you'd have my support... and I bet ROR woulD have thrown his weight behind you, too!

I believe she was a Bennie that graduated with TDT and I. She was 450 at graduation, rumor has it she's topped 5 bills as of last week.

Talk of Pork Queens at election parties, SJU 2006 football preview, and the meat so sweet I can almost taste it when I read about it*...it's gotta be close to kickoff time.
And the topper of it all, the Pace Arrow revved to life 2 nights ago.  A funny story about my sporadic efforts over the last 3 months to get it rolling. Remind me on September 2nd and I'll tell you.

*KR and TDT: I'm referring to the Stiftungsfest burgers, not the Pork Queen.  :D

Bartender! A round of karma for all the boys on this page, on Fins!

I didn't think Korea was involved in that war.

Maybe not in person, but they were in spirit.

Interestingly enough, Korea wasn't split into North and South Korea until the conclusion of World War II (the war when the battle for Iwo Jima occured) with Russia controling North Korea (hence the origin of their communist form of government) and the US controlling South Korea until they formed their own separate republics somewhere around 1948-49.

North Korea was trying to unify the Koreas under communism when they started the Korean war in 1950.

Amazing how much you can remember from a history paper you wrote in high school :)

So.... in theory Korea if not directly involved in the battle of Iwo Jima, was split into 2 nations by the treaty that ended the war, so I think J-esq's comments could be seen as relative.
