Portion of atricle regarding Iraq Forces takover by early next year... check out the British commander's name:

Sir Jock Stirrup, chief of Britain's defense staff, said coalition forces were making good progress in stabilizing the region — despite the death of a British soldier in Basra on Tuesday and concerns that Iraq's security has worsened since the U.S.-led 2003 invasion.

"We are now on a good path to hand over provincial control of Basra some time in the first part of next year," Stirrup told British Broadcasting Corp. "But these are difficult issues we are grappling with and I can't forecast what will happen over the next several months."

Only the Brits could come up with a name like that ;D

Bennie: Do you read People magazine religiously??  :o

KR: Very interesting pic of Mr. Wells, oddly enough I believe that pic was taken following Barry Bonds 600th HR at Pac Bell Park in SF.  Only reason I know/think I know this is bc TDT was in attendance to witness the mayhem that evening.

Also, I said the EXACT same thing regarding Matt Stairs while watching the game last night.  Quote: "Stairs looks like a professional beer softball league player".  How does that guy keep a job in the big leagues?  I thought for sure that hit down the 3rd base line by him would be a double but he was obviously dragging a piano behind him.

FYI: 1 month from today the 2006 Inaugural Stiftungsfest begins...

Probably about as often as you read Glamor magazine... wait a minute, that might not be a good example. ;D

I am a hockey fan and happen to like the Wings! A hockey player in his late twenties "dating" a minor is news that transcends the celebrity gossip mags. Throw in Pavel Bure and it will be talked about!! ;)

I took a series of shots of Hoag trying to catch a ball from McMahon. The rain messed things up yesterday, so only two came out. It was a bad throw. Just click on the thumbnail to see it bigger.

Let's see if we can't get this curse back on track.

Today's starters are Boof Bonser and Kip Wells.

Kip used to play for the pirates, this is obviously when this pic was taken obviously after giving up some sort of game-winning hit.

What is going through Kip's mind?

Ted Nugent on deer hunting.

He was being interviewed by a British journalist.  The journalist asked,"What do you think the last thought is in the head of a deer before you shoot it?  Is it, `Are you my friend?` or is it
`Are you the one who killed my brother?'"
Nugent replied, "They aren't capable of that kind of thinking.  All they care about is, 'What am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away.  They are very much like the French in that way."

I get back from vacation and find old quotes from the MTM show.  I always wondered when discussion was going to get around to that.   8)  So, which MIAC school did Ted attend?   :)

That was a lengthy vacation.  I almost forgot about you.  When do you ship son #2 out to Hamm's country?

I think it's quite obvious that "The Nuge" went to Concordia.

We fly in on the 11th.  Players report on the 12th.

We were on a cruise in the Baltic; internet access was expensive so I used it to keep up on work email and not much else.  Besides, I couldn't remember my password.  ???

Cruise was great but travel to and from were not good.  Lost a day heading to the cruise due to weather in Chicago and the return flight was late leading to missed connections and lost luggage.  But we saw Russia, Sweden (the boys concluded the Swedish women clearly were #1), Denmark, Germany and Estonia, which was fun.  I personally don't recommend cruising unless it's convenient for a particular reason; in our case it was the only practicable way to include 3 generations on the trip.

Good to be back; +k all around.  Hope our luggage arrives today.

Sweet Jesus...Twins down 7-0 with 2 errors already?? Is it Garza Time yet??

The game isn't on TV, but Sweet 16 is keeping me occupied for now. Is anyone else hoping LC dumps that chump on The Hills finale tonight, or is that just me? My life is almost as sweet as Franks.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Now that the Twins have been creamed 2 straight, and we all feel like slamming somebody, how about this guy??

bennie, is this the B-list latin "heartthrob" you spoke of? Julio Ignition or something?  ;D

bennie

It certainly is!! He already has a mediocre career and I have never gotten the feeling that he was very athletic so I hate to think what kind of "performance" you could be cursing by putting his picture up. Fins chances are looking better by the minute! ;D

If he's doinking that, he gets my permission to have a schitty* career.

Funny stuff, Duff. I think we all understood it the first time.  ;)
