:(  Coffee then beer.
Might I suggest skipping the coffee, going to the "Finsleft Koolaid" and then have some beers.  The koolaid usually burns any cobwebs out of the brain.
Any word on a new dean for SJU now that Laker is gone?  Is it Joe DesJardins (Interim Academic Dean and Associate Provost)?  What can you tell us, Mr. Finsleft?
Haven't heard who the new Laker is yet. I'll see if I can get the scoop.

At first I thought that the koolaid was just good. But I came to realize that whatever came out of that jug had mystical powers after Duff showed up one game near death. As he consumed his 3rd glass of the magic potion, an amazing transformation occurred before my very eyes as Duffman sprung back to life.
So, yeah, skip the coffee.

Just so I get this straight - you're bringing koolaid, eelpout ale and Hamm's?   :o  Wow!

I will likely have already had a couple of cups of Caribou Coffee waiting for the bags at MSP.  Last weekend we waited an hour for the bags to come.  It's great getting on the planes these days without everyone pulling those damned wheeled bags, which I hate, but it has also overwhelmed the baggage handlers, whom I think the airlines/airports had cut down to lean proportions prior to the recent events in London.  NWA told me they had 2 handlers working on 3 planes ... So that part of flying sucks.  :P  I'm thinking the thing to do is to bring and leave a bag of prohibited carry on essentials - maybe I can stuff it in Fins' PA.  Or else set up a mini-Walgreens just where folks leave the secured area of the airport and sell travel size toothpaste, shave cream, etc.  Someone could make some $$ here.   ;)

Tmert,
You can go into the double-wide, double-tall right by the tailgate area. I lived there for a summer, it has showers and everything.

GREAT STUFF! Got goosebumps reading that.

Curious if there are any SIDs out there with info of when the media guides will be coming out.  And if anyone has any other info on St. Olaf as to key returners other than Gant that are coming back.

I heard Meidt was coming back, but that's just a rumor.

Austin even uses Johnn-ie (though he also still uses Johnn-y - something he leaves for his proofreader I guess).

Now how do I staple this into my book?

This is true. I know that you all will want to order the Olaf media guide. Here is the link.
I think the cover has some of the key starters on it. Wilsey will be replaced by Matt Penz from Mayo and I think most of the O-line is back. All the receivers are back. Should be another interesting season. The Oles play Valley City State first game, which could be fun. You never know what or who is going to show up with those NAIA teams.

Wow, $12 for a media guide for a DIII school?  Must be impressive.

The Florida pipeline is alive and well for the Oles.  I counted 24 Floridians on the 2006 roster!  Wow.

KR, she's definitely worth drinkin about, but sadly she's stuck in the cities over Labor Day weekend...

Duff-there's nothing wrong with the Center/QB combo...I was the backup QB in high school my jr and sr year while starting at center!  (Said they needed my size on the line but they still wanted me to throw-I'm thinkin it was a polite way to call me fat!)   ;D
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

On a different note, being here in Moorhead and hearing the buzz of the NDSU/Gopher game in a month.  What does everyone think of that game?  Do the Bison upset the Big 10 team or is it a blowout by the gophs?  Part of me says the gophs are D-I, but the bison have a powerful offense.  It should be interesting.  For the bison its a win win situation, no matter the outcome they get a lot of money to play the game.

Being an NDSU alum, I think it's a great opportunity for the Bison.  I think the game itself will be a win for the Goophs, but I think it's going to be closer than the Goopher fans would like it to be.  Also, knowing how the Bison faithful travel and the size of their alumni base in and around the Twin Cities, It wouldn't suprise me to see somewhere between 5,000-10,000 Bison fans at the game.  If it weren't for the Johnnies playing that same day at about the same time, I'd be there myself.

It seems like the gophs have lost another running back.  Here is the story from the Forum.  http://www.in-forum.com/Sports/articles/136791.  Looks like he violated some rules.  Enjoy the read and who is going to run the ball now for the gophs?

From UST's preview:

QuoteThe most versatile newcomer might be Kevin Brown, who started at St. Paul Highland Park at both the center and QB spot in different seasons.

He played QB and center?  That's one helluva switch, but I guess you'd really know an offense that way.

I coached Kevin in baseball at Highland. He started at center his freshmen year and played there until his junior year when he hurt one of his knees. His senior year he was moved to QB because the kid that was supposed to play there was arrested for raping two St. Paul women while he under the influence. He was a smart kid. Played catcher and HP ran a four wide receiver set, so they need an arm. Definitely would play center in college.

MIAC media guide should be out in a week or two.

Hey DuffMan

Also from the St. Thomas Preview

They have a QB that lead his hockey team to a third place finish. I am not  up on my hockey but do they have QB's in hockey?

And they have a LB who was a starting pitcher for CDH, shouldn't he try out for the QB position?

Maybe they just play their players in the wrong positions.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

DuffMan

Could be.  When you've got the recruiting base that they have and loads of talent, there's got to be some reason that you suck.  Maybe you should contact Coach Roney and set him straight :D.
