Love your hypothetical. Except that, of course, St. John's has actually BEATEN Mount Union, not just had a JV statistician declare a moral victory because it was tied in the second quarter.

Pat, you're killing me here.  I was trying to construct a hypothetical situation that would have taken place prior to the 2000 stagg bowl.  Something that would relate to our conversation in a meaningful way.  A powerful opponent with arrogant fans who thought their team was leaps and bounds above their competition, when in reality the underdog was quite capable of playing with and beating their powerful adversary. 

Still following me?  Now, let's say that the powerful opponent would not even allow that the underdog could beat high school teams, nevertheless compete in the powerful team's conference.  and pat, I think you may be powerful enough to figure out that I am not a jv statistician.
MIACtrackguy-Did you see any real football fans talking on the UMAC board? 
KR: I have made points about various teams and their levels of talent, but you have not made any valid counter-arguments.  You try to end the argument with babble about the NCCAA and NAIA being absolutely nothing, and you fail to get into the football side of any of it.  You talk about their being such a great size, speed and skills difference between the UMAC and the MIAC, well then prove it.  I don't think the differences in those departments are very large, even when you compare the absolute superpower of the MIAC, St. John's, and Northwestern.  There are many other factors which have led to St. John's great success and a couple of 50 point wins against Northwestern.

I'm not even really bashing St. John's with my posts, so it's a bit surprising that everyone must be so into this, even to the point of KR justifying Mount Union's cockiness, because they "earned" it......must be football season...i love it.

But I do have to agree with Finsleft.....no point censoring or banning the annoying...let him keep yapping. It may be an irritation,  but AO is comical in a lot of ways--- too bad its laughing at him, not with him.

I'd vote for thicker skin and letting people express themselves here, even if they annoy us. Smite if you wish, but let the BS and hyperbole flow. That's why we fought the Germans in Pearl Harbor, isn't it?
