Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Duff, will Hang your balls be played?

You bet!  I just broke in a new set last night.  Ready to go.

Duffman will be retiring from shotgun races this year...at least until play-offs

CCKnight

I saw most of the Hamline game and would echo Esq's thoughts that Mayville was so bad it was tough to get a good read on the pipers.  Some of the things I noticed:

Hamlines running back for most of the game (#3) was pretty quick and shifty, but too small to be real effective in the MIAC as it looked like it wouldn't take much to tackle him.  Didn't see Dahmes, but heard he had some carries at halftime over the PA.

Their QB looked allright, but he had all the time in the world and the Mayville DB's couldn't cover at all.

Defensively Hamline looked small and with no blocking from Mayville couldn't tell a whole lot about their D-line / linebackers.  The secondary looked tiny, it would be a decent size RB's dream to break into that secondary, and they will be mismatched against most WR's.  Again couldn't get a real read on their speed due to the competition, but Mayville did have a couple of guys get past the DB's only to have a bad throw from their QB.

All that being said, they played hard and got the win, but I don't think they'll be challanging for the top of the MIAC this year.  I think more will be learned when they play someone a little more competitive.

Good luck to the rest of the MIAC tomorrow, it sure is nice to be able to watch football again.

Just hung the pictures in my new office (we moved 3 whole blocks - almost as far as Fins has to drive to the game  :D) and I've hung the picture of the Johnnie sideline in the GA game over my computer (I've told the local UM grad that it's a picture of the Johnnies playing his skunkbears, so he's looking that up  :D).  Anyway, it's a beautiful pic and "makes" the office.    ::)

Wait, I think I see Duff down with the 30 yard club.   :o

tmerton,  Around these part UM or U of M are the University of Minnesota Rodents.  When referring to the Wolvervines, Michigan is how we state it up nort here, ya know.  ;)

Anyone know what time the bookstore is open on Saturday mornings during fb season?  Not real critical but I'd like to make a couple of purchases and if I wait too long I might not be coherrent...

TDT, could you tee it up just a little bit higher for the snipers on this board?  This one was so easy looks like everyone took a pass.

WOW!

I was just looking at the "Game Day Notes" on BU's website and they indicate that Porta is out with an injury!  This will be a good test to see how well BU does through the air and with their backup RB!

No worries here, BU will find a way to roll!

Mighty Royal

I have heard rumors about a broken wrist, anyone around BU know anything about this??

I don't know if I totally trust my source, so take it with a grain of salt.
Whoa Nelly, would you trust Jepson??

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

Johnnie Red

Time to head out the door to pick up the Stiftungsfest burger in downtown Norwood Young America, stop at Bongards Creamery in Bongards for some cheese curds in the event some of the Blugold fans show up, head to Target to get a new boombox and the Paris Hilton cd, then to Cooper's County Market in Chaska for buns, condiments, charcoal, etc. Hopefully I will be in Collegeville by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Everyone have a safe trip to SJU. BDB, glad to hear your bride is doing fine. Tmerton, you forgot to mention the one thing about small town life that we have in Minnesota that they might not have in Nebraska: Being able to skinny dip with your girlfriend in a gravel pit filled with water. ;)

cobbernation

Kent State gained well over 300 yds of offense last night and didn't score once.  Then I scroll down and see that they committed 6 turnovers.  Wonder what the game would have been like with 1 or 2 TO's by KS.  Oh well, the gophers made plays and KS didn't.

Any predictions for the Twins/Yankees series this weekend?

I will be satisfied if they can find a way to win one of the games. 2 wins is a bonus. 3 wins and I'm calling Twins win the World Series this year.

Stoopid me.  :P  I'll make sure to reserve UM and U of M for the gophas and refer to the Meatchicken Skunkbears by other appropriate names.

I echo Fins' take on this weekend's series...Twins best shot of a W is Sunday, as Garza continues to improve. Baker is gonna be a rough outiing, and Silva could be a disaster to watch.

We need help from KC, and they have been known to give the ShytSox trouble

Go to http://www.gojohnnies.com/football/default.htm and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Right above the lovely picture of Clemens Stadium is a link to listen to the live game. Last year the pre-game show started an hour and a half before kickoff. Enjoy! :D
