AO,

I'm very glad to see you're still around.  I doubt there is a anyone in post patterns with a lower karma rating than us.  It makes me laugh everytime I think of the poor 50 year old never been who sat at his 9-5 desk job all off season watching the hours tick by till he could smite us again.

I wish you and your team the best of luck this season

On the other hand it might have been Peyton Manning.

Thanks to everyone who made an appearance at the Stiftungsfestivities yesterday, especially to TDT for bringing the tent. That really helped with the morning rain. Sumander, the brats were great and much appreciated. Nice to meet tmerton and his bride.

It was unfortunate that the NBC camera crew did not make an appearance at the tailgate party for the Today special that is going to air tomorrow morning between 8 and 9 a.m. on coach Gagliardi. They had planned to be there. Was it the Paris Hilton cd? The Stiftungsfest tshirt that TDT was wearing? The fact that Kilted Rat was not present as promised? We will never know. :'(

On to the River Falls game next Saturday. Sounds like the weather is going to be fine. The theme of the Stiftungsfestivities this week is to honor the sports media and all they do for promoting sports in Minnesota. River Falls fans are cordially invited to join us.

Let the comparison's [sic] against Gustavus, St. Thomas and St. Olaf rest until there is at least a common opponent.

You're the one trying to make the comparison, AO.

Well, well, well...a few things after a day in Collegeville

1.  First and foremost, big thanks to Johnnie Red, finsleft, Veek, and others for everything they do to make the Stiftungsfestivities a success.  Rest assured fellas your time and effort are much appreciated and do NOT go unnoticed.  The banner looked good hanging off the tent with perhaps a new Johnnie slogan "Nothing Even Comes Close", Thanks OAS.

2. Nice to meet Tmerton and his bride, Noel.  Also great to meet Sumander, those brats were PHENOMENAL.  FrankR was raving about them all day long.  I quickly informed Veek that he now had competition for the top bratwurst at the Stiffyfests.  He said, "It's on like DONKEY KONG."

3. Great to be back in Collegeville again.  It never gets old coming back to campus each fall for Johnnie football.  Weather cooperated for the most part.

4. Old Johnnie Ale was enjoyed at the Pub postgame with Johnnie Red, FrankRickard, Carbo, Carbo's brother Todd, John Young '83 (Director of SJU Institutional Development), and the honorable Bob Wicker.  I enjoyed it quite a bit.  Had the "Gluek's" taste to it, but not overpowering and overall I think the consensus was that it was a tasty new brew.  Perhaps party balls of OJA should be picked up at Surdyk's for future tailgate parties.

5. Bennies were looking good so far.  Dusty SJU and I oogled at a few of the cuter ones as they approached up on the 50yd line for autographs and picture opportunities with us.  REMEMBER: The Bennies will never look as good as they do on the first weekend of the season in Cville.  Only downhill from here when such evils as the Reef Ice Cream Machine and the Caf's all you can eat buffet is discovered...

6. Sal's now has Hamm's on tap.  Frank and I went for a while and it hasn't changed much.  Patty Melts and Cheesy Browns were beyond tasty at that point.

7. The Twins spanked the Yankees and the Cobbers got worked by a dismal Moorhead State team.  What happened up there Cobbers?  Please fill us in, inquiring minds want to know...

Thank you again to you guys that made the fest. happen yesterday. I was great to finally meet some of you!! The burgers and the brats were pretty fantastic!!  Some lackluster football but.....a win is a win and the Johnnies are 1-0.

From the Star Tribune today: The victory was the 409th for Gagliardi at St. John's, which breaks Eddie Robinson's record for wins by a college coach at one school.

I guess the 2004 and 2005 seasons never happened-did we miss much?

56321: AT ST. JOHN'S...his 433 wins include the games he won at Carroll College in Montana prior to coming to Collegeville, sheeeesh am I gonna have to start reading the fine print for the attorneys on these boards?  8)

JR--as usual, the Stiftungsfestivities was a success because of your efforts (and your incredible burgers!!) Thanks, Sumander, for the fantastic brats. Fins-- the koolaid was better than advertised! Good seeing all in attendance, and looking forward to Saturday already.

The game was mildly disappointing, as I had envisioned an SJU blowout. The defense looked good and seemed to improve throughout the game. Nice to see Weber emerge as a second go-to receiver... still some questions about the running game, although some of that could be attrributed to good D by EC.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

The Johnnies almost lose, the Gusties don't lose and my Red Wing Aces pounded Johnnie Red's Chaska Cubs yesterday on a beautiful first Saturday of football. The only thing that could have made it better was having the Golden Domers come up short...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.
