AO-
You think BU is avoiding playing NWC?  Have you ever thought of the fact, that they wouldn't be any sort of competition for BU?  BU's strategy is to play good teams during their non-conference play so that they can improve.  Plus, who wants their team, or individual players, possibly getting banged up playing against a sucky team?

What will it take for you to can it?

Cobbernation: It isn't me who needs to read the post again.  "I will believe that a team other than CC can compete with the J's when I see it with my own two eyes."  He mentions St. Olaf earlier but doesn't specify MIAC only.    This year, I would think that there are a few teams in the MIAC that could beat Eau Claire at home.  Especially with the kind of home field advantage the johnnies enjoy.

Mighty:  I wasn't only talking about football in regards to scheduling.  I was also poking fun at the neighbor to the north.  I think a very good rivalry could develop in the next few years if those concerned were intentional about putting it on the schedule.  Even if it would be a blowout this year, that may not be the case in 5 years, and I don't know that it would be a blowout this year anyways.  Outside of football Northwestern beat Bethel in Men's Soccer and Baseball last year.  It's not like it's putting Michigan vrs. Bethel.

Now shut up.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

AO

hahah  good edit. I hope Wonka wasn't duped by that.   but what about it, is eau claire better than Bethel and Concordia?

How about we discuss football?  Making personal attacks or putting people in their place shouldn't be the focus of this board.  Though, I'd say this board would rather discuss beer and Anna Kournikova than football.

AO, I don't know the history or reasoning behind all your angst over NWC's ability to play with the MIAC elite. I really don't care to get in this fray at all.

However, it's mostly guys on here. In my world, football, chicks, beer and food come together in most guys conversations this time of year.

Out of football season add in baseball or whatever but always leave in the chicks, beer and food.  :D

I have found the MIAC board to be an ongoing discussion of everything happening current event-wise. Guys (and bennie  ;)) 18-65 sharing their views and enjoying themselves.

Either have a lively board like this talking about whatever comes up, including a ton of football, or one like the WIAC that sits dormant for months.

Heck, the bandwidth is free. Well, to us anyway. I'm sure Pat writes a big check for it.  ;D

It didn't surprise me that EC made a run on the Johnnies at the end of the game. It's a solid program that every team in the WIAC will have to deal with.

They have a new coach, but the cupboard was not barren. And, going to Clemens wasn't new for the juniors and seniors.

UWRF will have to contend with being in that environment for the first time, and establishing their new "zone offense" in their 1st game of the season.

AO

If we're going to be men, then you don't have to worry about me saying one thing, but meaning another.  When I write, "Though, I'd say this board would rather discuss beer and Anna Kournikova than football.", I don't mean "gee I really wish everyone would have zero fun on this board and not talk about unsavory things".    So in fewer words I agree with you about this board.

Interesting that Eau Claire is predicted to win so few games and yet they're ranked so high in the overall by the d3football writers.  Where do you see them ending up BDB?  River Falls is predicted to be the worst of the WIAC, so I'm not concerned with St. John's being able to win that one, but where is the alarm for the johnnies who escaped from an eau claire team predicted to win 1 WIAC game?

Pat Coleman

Eau Claire does have a new coach, but he's not an unfamiliar coach. He was there as a coordinator quite recently, remember. I think there's some debate as to where they'll end up.

Scheduling football games is not quite as easy as that maroon&gold, and I think Bethel has been ducking Northwestern in multiple sports. ;D :o

Northwestern has been playing 1 game a year against the MIAC and has been doing pretty well.  Now is as good a time as any to talk about hypothetical matchups with the Augsburg game coming up.  If I had succeeded, then you wouldn't be saying ignorant things.  A third of the MIAC is ranked below Northwestern in the rankings.  We will see this Saturday if that is deserved or not after a less than stellar performance against Cornell.

Northwestern against the MIAC Since 1999-
2-1 against Carleton (Loss 21-14 in 99, Win 28-21 in 00, Win 29-20 in 01)
1-1 against Hamline (Win 35-7 in 02, Loss 30-6 in 03)
0-2 against St. Johns (Loss 48-0 in 04, Loss 57-7 in 05)

That's not exactly playing well against the top or the middle, let alone the bottom of the MIAC

AO,
Shut the F up.

Attention all parents, this is what your kid will turn out like if you always pretend they're right and let them do what they want.
For the sake of the world, punish your kids and teach them right from wrong!

I'd like to formerly suggest we all just ignore AO in general. If no one responds to his ridiculous posts, maybe he'll stop making them.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

KR,
Remember that we don't want to lose AO completely just in case the remote possibility arises that we need a super rally like the Cobber game.
The older the violin - the sweeter the music!

AO

Frank:  The reason those games don't point to doing well against the middle of the MIAC is because they are not against the middle of the miac, and KR has posted those before.

KR:  right from wrong?  something is wrong with you if you're too blind to see that not only am I not claiming to be right all the time, you are the one lording your rights and wrongs all over me.  I don't know what got you all worked up, but telling me to shut the F up seems like it came from far away left field.
