Greetings everyone from the IIAC!

Loras Duhawk football supporter here wondering what the heck is up with St. Thomas? What'd you guys think of Central? I was there in June for Cubs/Twins action and really liked your facilities. Looking for a good game Saturday.

UST has alot of young talent and should be very solid defensively. Line play, ever since '02 has been somewhat of an issue. If they can hold blocks, Casey is a tough runner and PJ Theisen is as fast as most anyone in D III.  I expect them to finish towards the top of the MIAC and suprise some teams as they did in '04, but I don't think they'll be conference contenders just yet. The field turf is nice as far as facilities. Some other things are in dire need of improvement however.

From SJU...

Alex Kofoed and Jamie Steffensmeier named MIAC Offensive and Defensive players of the week, respectively.

Not surprised about Steffensmeier, but I am about Kofoed.

Edit: Actually, his numbers look quite good from Saturday. But watching the game, he didn't appear sharp to me for some reason. Probably because of not delivering in clutch situations. Was able to hit Weber repeatedly on the wide open post pattern to rack up a lot of passing yards.

6 sacks and 2 interceptions and only 3 yards a carry. Line needs to shape up. Period. Everyone else seemed to play within reason. Central is tough though. They'll be in the playoffs.

OldBethel27, Porta fractured his hand in 6 million dollar man style.  The word out of the camp is Chuck Norris had something to do with it. In the immortal words of Coach Boone, "You cannot replace a Gary Bertier".  But they will have to move on for the meantime without him.  And have.  Even though Bangs ran against BV, they are not Simpson, and certainly not the Cobbers.  We will see if he is a worthy stand in in the interim of the next couple of weeks.

Must have been a horrible week for quarterbacks in the MIAC.  How in the world did Koefed get Offensive player of the week when he goes 23 of 38 for Zero touchdown passing, throws 1 int, and rushes twice for -3 yards.  I know Wetzell had a bad day, but was there noone else in the MIAC that had even a respectable day? I dont know what kind of QB ranking that is, but its not good.  Dosn't say much for our QB's but I think given the circumstances, Steffensmeier getting 13 tackles, and I think 1 1/2 sacks is a great way to come back after the year off.  Hats off to him..

Rodel from Concordia was 14-21 for 184 yds and 3 ints, rushed 14 times for 0 yds.

The lesser Schumacher came in late in the game and did some mop up duty for Concordia as well.

Alas, there ARE others on this board besides SJU grads. Great to see the Royal support on Post Patterns!

So we got Rodel from the Cobbers, Wetzell from the Royals goes 13 of 23 for 98 yards with 1 rush TD and 1 fumble, maybe Koefed was the best we had.  Thats encouraging :'( , come on guys its gonna take a lot better than that for one of us to get to Salem.....

oldbethel27

Does the Offensive player of the weak (spelling intentional) have to be a quarterback (rhetorical)?

No, I think just a Johnny(spelling intentional)
