UST - thanks for the elaborate insight!

You're welcome. I always go that extra mile for my Bethel friends.

MR - no idear as to Porta's status... I've got an email into his cousin though to see if he's got any dirt. I haven't seen either BU or CC play this year, so all I have are scores to go by: BU 2-0 over decent teams (?), CC 0-1 versus a team that would be in the middle of the MIAC pack... leads me nowhere

Do you know if Porta will be playing?  The only way I see CC winning is if they pass for 350 yds on the day...no way can they run over BU.  If BU cuts down on turnovers (I think this will be nipped in the bud after this last weekend), they should have no problem this weekend.  Just going on what CC has done thus far this season (which is only 1 game I believe) and the loss of their Senior class last year.

Not friends I punch in the nose like certain Bethel Qbs.  :D

I was kidding of course. It should be a real barometer to see how much the Cobbers have lost but considering the loss to Moorehead it's not looking to good for the Cobs this year.

MR - do I know you? (I'd send that as a personal message, but since JVers are prohibited from doing such a thing, well...)

actually graduated in May, 2001. Sorry to hear about the whooping cough :(  but it sounds like you've got your priorities straight.

Whoa Nelly

No one will know about the Cobbs until about the 3rd Quarter on Saturday.  Wierd things happen in rivalry or other well-hyped games...ask Notre Dame this year.  A few years back Cobbs lost to a below average MSUM team they probably would have beat 8 times out of 10.  Cobbs came back that year and St. John's was their only conference loss.

As the over-used cliche goes, "that is why they play the game."

I thought the cliche was "phone it in." Oh, that's Linfield fans.

The Week 3 Pick'ems are up.  Your team of crack 'cappers have put together some interesting lines for this Saturday.

Augsburg's Edor Nelson Field (Not counting the game at Metrodome) attendance last year went (approximately) 750, 1150, 600, 600.  Seems strange they'd limit the number unless they have something big going on themselves-- even back when the Auggies had some good teams (Hvisty!), they still would have capacity for 2500 or so.   Any notes on what this construction is for?

I saw that our Lone Auggie Backer #9 left the game injured against AO's Champions.  Any update on his injury? LAB#9, if you are reading this week, hope you'll be able to compete Saturday-- nobody likes injuries.

Be carfeul what you wish for MR - I remember Linfield last year that said no way Cord would ever run the ball against them, but it happened.  And the only loss in the backfield was Schumacher, albeit a big loss, but Rodel definetely can run the ball with the best of them.  The Cobbs have also led the league in rushing the last several years.

Also, as far as judging the Cobbs on their one loss to moorhead, you have some legitimate claims.  I personally think that because MSUM had a completely different spread offense than they have run in the past, coupled with the younger secondary and linebackers for concordia, that they were a little unprepared to face that offense.  Bethel has an offense that is a little more familiar to our coaching staff and players.

I'll be at Bethel on saturday to see it, but I'm guessing it will be a pretty competitive game with both teams running the ball pretty well.
To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

Whoa Nelly - you coming to the game Saturday?  Maroon and Gold and I will be there - if you brought Fischer with we could all stand around and reminisce about jumping out your first floor window during winter olympics.

Great time at the Johnnie game on Saturday. Fins..you might have the best spot in the stadium...I expect advertisements hanging from the trees in less than five years.
Unfortunately, so do I. Once they figure out how much I like my spot, they'll figure out a way to charge me for it and hang a banner in front of my face.  :(

Last I checked there was a "Lost Password" button on the sign in page. If you need help on the technical side there are plenty of Johnnies to help you ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

While everyone is watching the Vikings or the Twins I came across this -

  • TECHNOLOGY: Two upcoming Tommie road games will be available for viewing live on your computer via videocasts -- Sept. 16 at Gustavus and Nov. 4 at Hamline. (Check UST's athletic website -- www.stthomas.edu/tommies -- for links to access the games)... Believe it or not!

Any of the Tommies, Gusties or Pipers here know anything about how this is being done and who's sponsoring it?  Presumably this is being done by the Gusties and Hamline, not the Tommies.  How much videocasting is being done in the MIAC?  (Yeah, I know, SJU won't be doing it.)

Oh, yeah, the above was published along with the following:

  • CLEAN T-SHIRTS: When the Johnnies visit St. Thomas Oct. 28 for football, a new tradition will be established-- both Catholic universities will sell T-shirts that are 100% complimentary of the opposing institution.... Sorry, don't believe that!!!!

Aw, gee.

It was an honor to finally meet BDB, glad to know I didn't dissapoint.

Bench and I are friends. We had a rap group in the late 90's called KR and the Fry Guy. We sold 3 albums; 1 to each of our mom's and we chipped in to buy one to share.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.
