Does a johnnie get blamed for being biased when he compliments the tommie football team?  So then why would you claim a northwestern grad was biased towards Bethel?

royalachilles

For gods sake KR, I thought you were a foot doctor!! Now your paddlin people? At least when that Kool Aid you johnnies drink takes somebody over the edge, you know what to do,  you got it, just let them get a whiff of the panties, and up they come.....

Unless things have changed, Micks used to open up at 11:00 AM - someone from the Land of 10,000 Power Lines may need to confirm.  I have a wedding in Alexandria on Saturday - I'm trying to play the angle where I get to go to the game and speed down to the reception but it isn't working very well.

M&G - How is everyone's favorite 9-man team doing this year?

Nelly:  3-0 right now, and that is with the horribly inept coaching.

I am working on making Mick's for pregame, but it will probably between 10:30 and 11:00, I have a youth football camp to run, but the burgers and $3.25 pitchers are calling my name.

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

I know you will all miss me terribly, but I will be offline for a couple of days. I have to go up to Bend, OR for work and will not be back until Friday. Play nice while I'm gone...or don't! ;D

Being the social gathering director for the MIAC, I just talked to Terry, the owner of Mick's Office in Moorhead. He indicated that normally they open Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. I told him that we were interested in having a gathering for Cobber and Johnnie fans at his establishment and whether it was possible to have the Office open up at 10:00 a.m. Terry sounded very interested and told me to call back tomorrow. He needs to run it by his staff to make sure they could be there an hour earlier. Sounds very promising. We will want to have as many Johnnies and Cobbers there as possible to make it worth Terry and his staff's time. Developing....

J Red,
I sent you the address for Mick's office.  If Terry and his staff can open early for a gathering let me know.

Because you ruined the name of all Northwestern grads forever and since Northwestern's JV team beat Bethel's JV team linking those two bible-thumping programs for all eternity.

Heck no. I'm gonna be a full body doc! I hate feet!

We do have a podiatry program at DMU but it has only 40 students per class compared to the 200 in the DO program. I've known how to cardiovert for a few months now, but actually doing it is an entirely different experience!

Hi, my name is DuffMan, and I'm a classless asshole.

Hi Duffman, the hardest step is admitting you have a problem. Welcome to the club. I have the same issue (at least that's what the Tommies I work with say) If you want to talk about any other "problems" we can have a beer before Carleton game. Once again welcome to the "classless asshole club" have you met our President Touchdown Tommy?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

You know it's a good day when a question you sent in makes it into the Twin's mailbag!

BTW, if Gardy isn't AL manager of the year it will be almost as much of a hose job as Johan not winning the Cy Young would be.

Here's the evidence:
Santana and Silva are the only starters in the rotation that started the year there.
Our starting rotation at the begining of the season was Santana, Radke, Silva, Lohse, and Baker. I guess Baker is back in the starting line-up occasionally so he's kinda still there.

Only Torii, Morneau, Castillo, and Mauer started opening day and are still starters. Punto is in a new position, Cuddy is batting clean-up and never started on a regular basis before, Tyner, Bartlett, Rabe, and Kubel are all rookies, Bartlett, has been a stud at short and is swinging a great bat (.326).
A starting rotation with rookies Bonser, Baker, and Garza with a reliever starting games is nuts.
And our bullpen of mostly rookies, has beens, and never weres including Neshek, Eyre, Crain, Reyes, and Guierrer is stellar. The best in Baseball by a long shot.

Here's something crazy to consider look at our starters opening day vs now:

1st:  Morneau---Morneau
2nd: Castillo----Castillo
SS:   Castro-----Bartlett
3rd:  Batista-----Punto
RF:    Kubel------Cuddyer
CF:   Hunter-----Hunter
LF:   Stewart----White/Tyner
C:     Mauer-----Mauer
DH:   White/Sierra-- Tyner/Nevin/White/Kubel

If Santana doesn't get the Cy Young its the 2nd biggest hose job in the world. 2.77 ERA, .237 K's, 18 wins, 0.98 walks/hits per inning pitched, .213 Opp BA all best in the AL and all but Opp BA are best in all of MLB. Imagine how many more K's he would have and how much lower his ERA would be if he pitched in the senior circuit and got to face a pitcher every 9th batter!

Do we need much more evidence of class by the johnnie posters than KR's response?  The point is that traditionally Northwestern and Bethel students have a friendly and occassionaly prank-filled rivalry.   I feel like I need to spell things out to you and others when they seem to post meaningless insults back at me without reading or thinking.

also...I've got a good feeling about Garza in the playoffs, he's going to surprise some people.

Sigh...sorry to say I'll be missing homecoming :'(  But you've been missed this year, 105.  Even Steph asked me how you were the other day (and she's only been to one game so far).

You answered your own original question in your last post.

AO, you make this easy.

As far as the class of Johnnie posters? I'd rather be classless and realistic than idiotic and classy, but you just choose to be idiotic.

Now, now KR no need to get snippy this early in the season.  We'll have plent of time later on after our boys have shown them who really runs the MIAC on the field.

Besides, don't you have patients to worry about or something??
I didn't do it....yet.

AO

How does a rivalry equal being biased towards the school you hate.  You can't group Northwestern and Bethel into the same Bible school group.  NW is non-denominational and Bethel is baptist.  NW has around 30 required bible credits and Bethel has maybe 4 or 8.  NW has required daily chapel, and Bethel does not.  Still no dancing at NW, though that rule seems to be laughed at by the majority of students who like to dance, but have no interest in going to the clubs.  The verse most often quoted by Northwestern students when asked about Bethel students would probably be Amos 4:4, "go to Bethel and sin".

Now, hit the rewind button and see if you can piece together some thoughts about a Northwestern grad who likes football and saw Bethel hold Concordia to 7 points.  You don't need to be biased towards any schools to say great things about the Bethel defense.  Concordia fans largely echoed what scrubby had to say.

Why are the Johnnies going to have such a better defensive effort against concordia on Saturday than Bethel did?
