Well the truth of the matter is in programs that big some talented players just get lost in the shuffle. I'll admit I would get a little antsy when we were up big. Anticipating exactly when I would get in if I got in at all was a little nerve-wracking. Would the freshman with all the potential go in first or would I? The fact is in the big scheme of things it didn't really matter. I believe I could've started at a few schools that were not at the upper-eschelon of the MIAC. Who knows maybe there were some playoff caliber teams that were looking for what I could bring to the table (a good-sized yet below average blocker at fullback with good hands because he converted from wide out). But all that doesn't matter. I'm proud I can say I played college football and I wouldn't trade the guys on my team for anything. I was a scout teamer and I took pride in that. I can't speak for everyone but it was important to me that our defense got a good look. It takes a certain kind of personality to embrace that roll but it helped that come fall there was nothing I'd rather do on a Wednesday night than be on the practice field.

Hey BDB,

I am thinking about coming to your game with Whitworth on Sat. What is happening pre-game and where?

Can you set me up?

We met at St. Johns two weeks ago.

Let me know.

Thanks.

sumander,
They announced that Crees had been sick all week. He felt a little better at game time but Jim G didn't think he was good enough to risk putting in. The punter also didn't get into the game. I suppose somebody will complain about that too.

Yeah I'm sure Z. Reif was a little disappointed in that too...the radio guys were say Reif was falling asleep on the sidelines during the game !!

CCKnight, you might want to lift the face plate on your suit of armor before you start talking about the two closest games in the MIAC being Auggie Tech and Olaf and Bethel and the Knights.  Have you seen Augsburg play? Have you seen Bethel play?  Your team better be a lot better than last year.  By the way your superstar J.C. Jackson lit up bethel last year for 13 total yards of offense in the 41-0 thriller.  And Tech last year against the oles it too was a close contest 49-0 Oles.  Now I think we would all agree that Bethel and St. Olaf did not get worse, but Augsburg clearly is and the Knights, well, you my friend have been in the library too much.  You need to get out a little.

Guaranteed TDT post provoker.  Bethel ranks #12 nationally in Rush Defense with 9 of the teams ahead of them playing 2 or less games so far this season.  Bethel ranks 29th nationally in Total Defense with 18 of the teams ranking higher playing 2 or less games so far... Who on this board thinks Bethel will hold St. Johns to less yards on the ground? Maybe that should be next weeks pick em poll  Johnnie Esq?

Before the strength of schedule comment TDT, I have one word for you.  Auggie Tech....... They had 225 yards in offense against you.  Uh Oh, here comes Scrubby with the Scrub word again????

CCKnight

The "closest" part was refering to the distance from Rochester, which was in response to a question of if there were any games within an hour of Rochester.  Apparently reading comprehension isn't something that is stressed at Bethel.

For the record, don't have a favorite MIAC team, don't dislike any of them either, fact is, once a scrub always a scrub!

Finsleft, Tommy, and Willy--sorry I've hit a major "nerve" and that someone finally told you the truth--"Scrubs"!!

Well, Well, Well....

Jeez....Stay away for a couple of weeks and all hell breaks loose...... ;D

Nice to say to a couple of people at the Eau CLaire game, but the Mrs. was on a mission, so I had to bolt early......

Look forward to seeing all at Homecoming.....my 10 year reunion, so I will be flying solo and in rare form!!!!  (No more warafin for me boys!!!!)

SJU 69-3 over STO last year......If any Johnnie didnt get in the game that day, it was because they didnt want to play...more than likely senior scouters who had a few too many at the chicken shack the night before!!

Hey Ritzie- Welcome back. We really could use a bouncer in here. Take care of these knuckleheads, will you?

Look forward to seeing you on the 30th. I was feeling kinda sorry for you at the EC game. I almost was ready to spell you by taking a turn in the yoke, but then I had to go grab a Hamm's and you were gone.

MR,
Common sense, hmmm.  How would saying that a player that has been an all-conference player his freshman and sophmore years is one of the best players in the league be rediculous.  I'm pretty sure the criteria for being all-conference is that you are one of the best players at your position.  Talent wise, RJ IS one of the best players in the league, I'd put him up against anybody when it comes to speed/vision/cutting ability and big play potential.  Sure there may be better straight up running backs (Porta), but RJ doesn't get 20+ carries a game he is used more like a Reggie Bush type back (some carries, some receptions, some returns).  Also, stats don't necessarily determine how good/talented a player is.  I'm sure it's a lot easier to have big stats when you don't get touched the first 5-10 yds as it is when your team may not be as good and you have to break a couple tackles just to get 5 yds.  Either way, RJ would be one of the best players on any MIAC team he was on, which was the basis for my statement.
