57 Johnnie,
Thanks!  Was looking at the SJU box score, did your QB get hurt??  See he only played in the 1st qrt.  I also see SJU had trouble stopping the running game of CC.  CC couldn't stop BU's running game the week before, yet they stopped SJU.  I'm assuming that SJU and BU will match up well when they play....

If you look at comparative scores, the Knights should be about 2 TD favorites.  ;)

Scrubby,
Kofoed dislocated his thumb ( throwing hand). Jimmy said Keating played several games with the same injury?? Said it doesn't affect throwing - hard to understand that.

Great job to the Cobbers yesterday.  In my opinion, the J's were lucky to get out of there with a win.  Thank God for the big play and Concordia turnovers because the J offense really looked terrible most of the time.  One could say that the Concordia defense had a lot to do with it, and they Concordia D probably did have something to do with it, but the J offense usually moves the ball a lot better than what they did yesterday.  Outstanding goal line stand by the D!  The J post season, provided they make it there, will be short lived unless the o line learns to push off rather than being pushed into and back.  I'd like to see SJU with a good pounding back like Crowley again.  It would have been  a long drive back to Mankato had they lost and they should have lost.

One more thing:  What in the heck was Jimmy G thinking punting on 3rd down?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?  Brutal call.  Just brutal.  The Cobbers need to get new helmets.  The white numbering on the jersey makes the uniform a lot less drab but the helmets have got to go.

For those that have seen CC play or have played against BU or SJU, who would you give the upper hand to in regards to the better team.  Defensively, Offensively, toughness, etc.?  Please, only those that have either played or seen these games!!

Scrubby,
I saw their first game against Morris, but it was tough to tell how good they were as Morris was pretty bad.  The knights front seven on D are very good, they've got athletic D-linemen with good size and their linebackers are all solid and they all have had a lot of experience.  The Bethel offensive line wasn't able to get a good push on most of the running plays and they got clogged up around the line of scrimage.  The game itself was mostly a defensive battle with Carleton capitalizing off of the mistakes that Bethel made (fumbles).  Both teams had chances to win it, and it was one of those games that came down to whoever made the big play to win it.  I think that it is a huge win for Carleton and really gives them a confidence boost, which is big for a team that is trying to build a program back up.  It doesn't get any easier with a trip to collegeville this week, but I'm really looking forward to the game.

I got a chance to see BU vs CC, I thought the D was awesome, sound like it was again yesterday!  In regards to your offense, did they not play well or was it more of the defense playing the way they did the week before??

I am assuming your post is referring to Cord, if it is Carleton then disregard thsi post

I saw both games and here is my take:

I think that SJU matches up better against the Royal running game than they do against the Cobber running game. Here's why, I think that Cord runs more of a power/smack you in the mouth attack, where as BU runs a zone based run offense.  I think that SJU is too fast of a defense for that to be very effective.

Bethel has a talented QB, and decent recievers.  I can't say too much about the Johnnie secondary because they didn't see too much action yesterday.

Defensively. Both teams are very fast. But I think that I give the "toughness" factor to the Johnnies.  If I had to make a prediction right now I would say Johnnies by 14 pts, but who knows.

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

I caught the second half of Carleton/Bethel Saturday, and I'll say this much. The Royals had a couple of critical turnovers, but the Knights made a lot of plays out there. The game-winning touchdown on the double pass was a thing of beauty called by Ramler. The Bethel defense was completely fooled, and the receiver didn't have anyone within 25 yards of him when he caught it. There was also kind of a dirty play late in the second half. On a different scoring drive, Mike Kootsikas got lit up on a brutally late and cheap hit... don't know who the Bethel player was, but no penalty was called, and Ramler was absolutely going nuts on the officials for missing it. Koots looked dazed as he came off by whatever had just hit him. Anyhow, Carleton's defense made a huge play on Bethel's last chance. They sent the house and stuffed some sort of option run play. Wasn't a very good play-call for fourth down and with the game hanging in the balance. Ramler has got everyone believing that the Knights are legit, and Caspers looks dangerously comfortable in the shotgun letting guys make plays. The win over the Royals proves they are legit, but can they win in Collegeville?

D3Poll...

Anyone check it out?  Another case of east-coast bias as Capital catapults ahead of the Johnnies..... wow, do you need to do more than win your games?

When LAX beats WWW, guess they'll just replace the Titans just as WW jumped the Johnnies in 2005.... would've certainly preferred WWW at home.

I foresee the same screw job in the post season as we saw last year with a stacked west and no brains from the NCAA seeding department...

Speaking of seeding.... what about the Cobb?

The stats arent up yet but RJ Jackson was stuffed all day long.  The announcers could not believe how fast and stretched out the Bethel Defense was.  Good TEAMS win close games, your right TDT.  Bethel has a good defense.  They cannot win with just a good defense. I really dont have a smart ass retort for you TDT, on the other hand, what happened to your STOMP???  And KR, I get ZERO satisfaction in knowing we held CC to less yards and points then you, I would have gotten twice the satisfaction unloading 10 cases of the finest to you, and had a Bethel win.   :-\   Now, it looks like the Oles, and the Johnnies undefeated in the MIAC.

Achilles,
Unbelievable! I never would have expected that outcome. I owe you a case of beer, drop me a PM and tell me your flavor of choice and where to get it to ya.

Fortunately, I was not thirsty Saturday night as the wedding had free keg beer which was flowing like whine while beautiful women instinctively flocked like salmon to Capastrano!

Fins,
+k everyday for the rest of my existence for providing updates throughout the game and for letting me listen to the radio for the final 2 min.
Amazing finish, wish I could have been there!

Who's in for Homecoming next week? I'll be there with MrsKR!
Can't wait to see Ramler's undefeated Knights in person, I guess if you wanna succeed in this league, either hire Gags or one of his pupils.

14 carries for 24 yards, that's how RJ Jackson does it!

You are such a prick I can hardly believe it.  You know you are wrong and don't have the balls to admit it.  Either quote me and show me how I'm wrong or admit your fault. You are a joke

Yes, I am a prick, but at least my team didn't lose to Carleton! ;D

I'm not wrong. I and everyone else but you dropped the topic several dozen pages ago, if you really want to know why I'm right, go back and re-read it or have someone with a ACT Verbal comp score in the double digits explain it to you.

The other carrot is sitting in the ER waiting room when a doctor comes out to talk to him.

"I have some good news and some bad news about your carrot buddy," says the doc.

"Good news first please doc."

"Well, he's going to live, but he's going to be a vegetable for the rest of his life."

PS. Can someone please tell me whether I am a prick of an a$shole? This way when I get sick I know whether to go to a Urologist or a Proctologist.

Nice job, Freebird!  Why don't you pull your head out of your hind-parts?

KR, you're more than welcome to join the "classless asshole" club.  I'm a charter member, apparently.
