Thanks for your take on the SJU/BU comparisons.  I'm not sure I understand your point about CC being a smack you in the face type of offense and BU being more zone, and then saying SJU is a tougher Defensive team.  I watched the BU/CC game and I think that BU's defense smack them all day long.  Maybe we are not talking about the same thing, but I do know this from what I saw, BU will hit you often and they don't let up!  Especially that number 37 and #2.  Doesn't really matter, I just looked up when the two play and that's not for another two months!!  Alot can happen between now and then!

Nicely said 105.  I always look to the Johnnies for voices of reason.  TDT gave up trying to "reason" with these Bethel posters.  Apparently a loss to Carleton (perennial doormat of the MIAC) wasn't humbling enough.  Especially after yapping all week about that Porta-Potty and the vaunted BU Defense.  Spare us the rhetoric fellas.

Yes I am the President of the Classless A$$hole Club.  All Johnnies are eligible as well as various other school posters (Willy Wonka, Frank R, Benchwarmer, cobbers, etc.) who meet the stringent membership qualifications set forth by yours truly.

Scrubby you are right.  Lots can happen before 11-11.  Like a few more losses for BU...

Oh Wise Dusty: Polls schmolls.  Playoff wins and losses are what matter.  Ask Bethel...

I spoke with Veek last evening.  He was in Wisconsin and didn't get to hear the game.  He was quite thrilled as TDT described the events of the 4th qtr in Moorhead.  Fins: make sure he picks up his grill and accessories after the game next weekend.  If somebody wants to pick up the "Big Red" tent they are more than welcome.  PM for directions...

Hey Duff and KR- no sweat. I was alone in my gee-rodge listening to the game whilst slapping paint on my storm windows so I looked forward to the break that updating you guys gave me. Besides, KR was kind enough to telegraph updates to me last year when I was in the great white north last year.
And to you tools out there (you know who you are) with the bad PMS, if you can't handle the banter and snap when your team loses, maybe you should find a hobby, get counseling, or both. Sheesh!
Hope I can avoid a total breakdown if/when SJU loses this year. And it will happen if they can't figure out how to block and move the ball. Where's my Valium?

Damn, every time I turn around I find there's another club I didn't know about.  At least I don't have to feel excluded as I find I'm already a member.  That's okay - I've always been a joiner. 

And Fins, your update for me was key - it was another half hour before the SJU email blast went out.  K and all for that.

BTW, what's this thing coming up they call the "long weekend"?  Is that kinda like fall break?  Do they always schedule that on a weekend the Johnnies are playing an away game?

K, realize I'm a first time poster, and I told myself I'd never do this after I got done playing, but I couldnt take it any longer.

Despite giving up only 163 yards total to Carleton, BU lost. And rightfully so, they deserved to. But I have sat on the sidelines the past couple of years, and the same thing that was happening then is continuing now: the Bethel Offense is killing this team. Whether it be through their unrivaled ability to turn the ball over or completely horrible playcalling, stellar defensive efforts are being wasted by this "powerhouse" offense. I dont give a damn how many all americans their line or backfield has, it doesnt matter if you only put up 15 points a game.

Am I biased? Absolutely. I played defense there. But I held my toungue while I played for the sake of team chemistry. But I've talked to some of the guys on this year's D, and thier patience is down to razor-thin. I dont care if Porta rushes for 200 hundred yards, two fumbles a game is gonna kill your team. These guys average 3 turnovers a game! It'd be borderline comical if it wasnt so pathetic. You know what their goal was for the entire SEASON? 8 turnovers. 8!!   

They had that beat two or three games in. At what point do you get a new OC or HC? They bring in all this talent every year and do nothing with it. The past four years, they have gone a combined 25-16, with their one saving grace the year they went 9-2 with Kirchoff carrying them.

50 yard line seats, two great places to tip a few and have a bite.

Game was................Great sort of. Blue Devils had it well in hand with 1:45 to play. That was the problem, there was 1:45 to play. Whitworth knows they were in a game and there are some Pirates back in Spokane that are nursing some lumps. Some real hard hitting WIAC style. The Whitworth QB was OK. He had three picks on the day but got it done when he had to. They had an NFL prospect tight end that spent more time blocking than catching passes but he was a factor at the end. He was something like 7'7" and about 400#.

We had a post game get together at the Lakefront. Coaches were there and the owner puts on a nice spread for all N/C. It helped to ease the pain.

Those of you that had the pleasure of meeting Todd Strop at the River Falls game know what a class guy he is. His whole staff was there after the game to mingle with the fans and gave their insights on the game. Real good bunch.
