I was still in H.S. when the movie came out, but we went to see it I think 3 or 4 times. Then when VHS came about WOW we could watch it anytime we wanted to! (For the young ones VHS was a media format prior to DVD)
Great scenes & memories:
"Grab a brew, don't cost nothin'"
"What is a pledge pin doing on your uniform?"
"Guess what I am now?, a zit, get it?" "Food Fight!!"
and who could forget, "As of now, they're on double secret probation"
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Get a lift and see a tsunami and a coup - all in the same trip (and cheaper than in the USA)!  :D

... I tried to be a little more subtle out here in public. :-[

You are obviously more thoughtful and sensitive - you midwestern guys are like that.

Are you some f***ing member of that Ass Hole Club?

I hardly ever go to sleep before the early news ends at 10pm.

Not only am I a charter member, I'm also a client!

I happened to be in Dickinson, N.D., at the time it came out and the theater erupted to the line:

``I hear Dickinson girls are easy ..."

Not to interupt the Animal House discussion, but I've got a couple of comments after flipping through the channels tonight.

First off, it appears that congratulations are in order for the Twins.  Provided a ninth inning melt down, they will clinch a playoff spot tonight.  They are up 5-1 in the bottom of the 8th and the White Sox got pounded by the Indians.  Who would have thought this would happen 2 months ago, other than all of us believers here on the board.  Also, Congratualtions to Torii Hunter for hitting his 30th HR this season.

Secondly, what in the world is ESPN doing having Spike Lee on during their Monday Night Football telecast?  With the game being in New Orleans, there is only one direction that that conversation is going, and in my opinion, a sports telecast is not the place for that to happen.  Monday Night Football is becoming a far cry from what it used to be.  I don't think it will be long before NBC's Sunday night game is the premier game of the week.

I also want to send out a shout out for the Twins to making it back into the post season!

Plus I agree with how many celebrities that show up on MNF!  It's getting rediculous!  I miss MNF being on ABC with Pat and Madden!  On ESPN, too many commentators.  I am a fan of Tony K. on PTI but not on MNF.  Joe Theisman is ok and Tirico is fine.  But 3 guys is too many for a telecast in my opinion.  What does everyone else think?

One last thing....Where is Anna and Lisa?

retagent

As time goes on, I feel Monday Night Football is no longer watchable.

Let's not give up on the Twins being able to take the Division title. I don't look forward to them going to Yankee Stadium again in the first round.

Although "Animal House" is a classic. and one of the greatest movies ever, I am now much more enamored of "The Big Lebowski" as it appears are others who have quotes from that gem within their posting boxes.

Congrats to Morneau on #34 (fitting enough) as well!

Boof is a major reason the Twinkies are where they are right now.
6.2, 2 hits, 1ER, 2 BB, and 5 K's tonight
3-0 with a 2.42 ERA, and 26K's in 26 innings pitched in 4 appearances in Sept not including tonight.

Twins at 93-63 are now 1 game back of the Tigers and Yankees for the best record in the AL. This race is far from over. Imagine the Twins have home field advantage all the way through. Has to be a scary thought to the Yanks, Tigers, and Athletics as well as whoever makes it out of the Senior circuit!

MNF is going the way of Zoobaz, Hair bands, and tight-rolling jeans and will continue in that direction for as long as Madden's 500lb 90 year old a$s is the "main attraction." Great to see Alexander fall victim to the cover jinx.

CN,
Agreed! They care way too much about being able to claim great celebrities are on than that they do a good job covering the game.
Tony K is great for PTI, but not MNF.

SUMMIT!!!!!

It is truly a great day when the Twins clinch a playoff spot AND get to enjoy seenig CWS and their arrogant "bad boys" get simply crushed to help seal the deal!!! Smell THIS, CHicago!

As much as I want them to win the Divsion, I'd rather play NYY in the first round, at least more so than in the ALCS.  Maybe OAK can catch them for 2nd best record? Eh, it doesnt matter....bring 'em, on. I smell RBIs and a World Series in MN

After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Wow, topic overload here.
MNF- Who gives a rip? I don't have to try very hard not to watch it. Joe T on a broadcast...well I'd rather hear fingernails on a blackboard. He's a dork.
Twins- this season has been really fun. Great to see 'em clinch at home but I hope they go home early tonight and keep going until the season is over. Home field advantage would be sweet.
Animal House- The day it came out my cousin came to pick me up and as I walked out of the front door, I see a mostly full pint of Cuervo next to the steps. (Little sis must've stashed it when she came home last night.) That went into my pocket and we finished it off during the movie. While most of the audience was laughing during the flick, we were in absolute tequila-induced hysterics. It has been on my top 3 list of movies ever since. Later that night, Cuz found a long stick out on 5th Avenue and spear-chucked it through a 2nd floor window above the Red Carpet.

Jeez, and I remember when Al Michaels was the new guy on MNF.  There simply is nothing to compare with Merideth, Cosell and Gifford (good replacement for Jackson).  It's been a slow but steady downhill slide ever since and is now almost a self parody.  Entertainment at its worst.  :P

Especially when Dandy Don made a stop at a local watering hole on the way to the park.  Which I think was every week.  I think the only variable was what time he got out of bed and rolling.

Hell yeah Twins!!!

While Animal House is a classic, for those of us under the age of 30...it's all about Old School baby.

Nice doll Frank.

Yeah, she's okay.
Heaven isn't too far away,
Closer to it every day

Yes, topic overload.

1.  Animal House:  Enough said.  One of best movies ever.  Agree on Big Lebowski.  If it weren't for the 4 kids and the mortgage The Dude would be my
role model.  BTW, what the hell happened to Walter Sobchak?  Is he too good for us?

My favorite dialogue:
DONNY:   Oh yeah, how'd it go?

WALTER:   Went alright.  Dude's car got a little dinged up--

2.  Twins:  I'm glad I wasn't offered any bets in May.  I'd have bet the house and lost.  Must fun team since 1987 I think.  In 1991 we had big expectations.

3.  Boof Bonser:  I of little faith.  After he went down the 2nd time I thought we'd only hear the name in future Boof Bonser jokes.  I'm almost convinced he's the real deal.

4.  There's still MNF?  If Joe Theisman (rhymes with Heisman) is a part, it does not exist in my world.
