RE Animal House:

You don't want to know how Pinto got his nickname.

As for Big Lebowski:

"Good night, Sweet Prince."

Donny's ashes from Folger's can coat the Dude and his shades. He protests.

Walter says: "F**k it, Dude. Let's go bowling."

RE Animal House/Old School

While I give props to Animal House, I too have to go with Old School. Tough to beat Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell.

Beanie (talking to his 8 year old kid): "hey Max, can you earmuff it for me? We are gonna get so much ass here, its gonna be sick. I'm talking crazy, like boy band ass.

Also, for those of you who havent seen it, I recommend going and seeing Beerfest. While I think super troopers is superior, this movie was pretty damn funny too. Plus, it makes you want to do keg stands, and thats a win-win any day of the week.
"FILL IT UP AGAIN!!!.....Once it hits your lips, it's so good!".........Frank Rickard

Willy Wonka

Theisman? He's a joke. I can't stand him. Give me Madden over him any day of the week, though the video game is admittedly the best thing he's ever done. As for Tony K...I can't wait for TDT to address this and all subsequent rippage.

Did a Bethel poster just make a keg stand reference? Isn't that grounds for revoking his diploma?

I've got the Gusties surprising the Oles this week, if we get the Good Stolp. Evil Stolp is too much for the enemic Gustie offense to overcome and it's generally 50/50 which shows up. I'm tempted to go check it out, but have a co-worker's going away party that day and it's been scheduled for weeks. Goal Line Club with all the free brats you can eat with Mongo and possibly Frank as the Twins beat the piss out of AJ followed by tauntage of Train and PS about the Goophs beating the Wolverines later that day, or sitting at a random house with a bunch of old/middle age people (think ROR or worse...) discussing God knows what?

Developing...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

BDB,

Tough loss for the devils this week.  One question, when did Stout get the artificial field??  It looks real nice.  I know it's been awhile since I last set foot up there (15 years).  That field used to be a swamp to play on.

It was there on my last visit in 2003.

kubiack, The new stadium was opened in 2001. Pat was here for the Hardin-Simmons game in 2003.

The swamp where you played is now the soccer field. Most of the stands were taken down and sold. That was the site of the 2000 SJU-UWStout playoff game that many of these posters attended or suited up for.

New stadium is set for field turf in 2 years.

It is truly a great day when the Twins clinch a playoff spot AND get to enjoy seenig CWS and their arrogant "bad boys" get simply crushed to help seal the deal!!! Smell THIS, CHicago!

As much as I want them to win the Divsion, I'd rather play NYY in the first round, at least more so than in the ALCS.  Maybe OAK can catch them for 2nd best record? Eh, it doesnt matter....bring 'em, on. I smell RBIs and a World Series in MN

Go Bears!

Ritz, have a great time in New Ulm at Schell's Brewery. We will have to get you down to the BockFest next February. Unbelievable event; just ask Duffman!

Yesterday afternoon after work I went to our local Domino's to order a pizza. Since I had a few minutes until the pizza was done, I took a walk and went into our local Christian bookstore to burn up some time. There was a young man behind the counter who I had not seen in the store before. We started up a conversation and I asked him where he was from. It got to the point where I asked him what college he attended. GUESS WHERE!! :o That's right - Bethel! He and his bride, who is also a Bethel grad, just bought the store. Just what we need, more Bethel grads in Chaska and Carver County. The fellow has a brother who played football for the Royals. I, of course, told him I was a Johnnie. He immediately rolled his eyes and started laughing. He did invite me to their grand opening next weekend.

Ritzy: You are my hero.  When I am old and come back for my 10 yr reunion I also hope to sleep on a random bennie's couch in St. Joe.  Why the minivan (soccer dad? WTF) on Sat night instead of the couch 2 nights in a row?

ROR: Up kinda late these past few nights...Are you still in recovery mode? Or is your lovely bennie wife making you sleep on the sofa?

RE: Twins

The piranhas have killed Ozzie.  Now we finish off Leyland and his choking bunch of hooligans.  Either at Yankee Stadium next Tuesday night in primetime or at the Homerdome for a Tuesday afternoon clash with the Athletics.  6 of one, half dozen of the other, this squad is battle tested.

BTW: Rip MNF and Theismann all you want, but do NOT under any circumstances rip my boy Tony Kornheiser.  He is perhaps the best personality on a sports broadcast today.  No sugarcoating, lots of good humor, and doesn't kiss the ESPN executives a$$es (see multiple suspensions from PTI and his nationally renown radio show).  He is a TDT endorsed analyst and all those ripping him from this day forward will be greeted with a healthy dose of -K.  Thanks the MGMT

and I find TDT the most classless of the SJU posters.  TDT, we are all tired of hearing about Johnnie lore...

Lighten up. This is just D3 Football for cripes sake. We could be in Iraq like Kubiak. Enjoy your team, root for them to run the table & share your opinion. You have the right to your opinion as does TDT,so lighten up ;)

Dang,  you make it sound like I got the short end of the stick :'(.  I enjoy all of TDT's posts along with most of the rest of what is posted on this board.  Getting online and checking PP is one of the highlights of my day.... That's prety sad huh?

New Ulm is sweet. MrsKR's parents are both from there. True story, I ran into JohnniePress and his now wife at Easter mass in New Ulm.

RE: Bible Store

JR,
If they were open when you came in, how were they going to have a grand opening celebration in the future?
Stupid Bethel Grads ;)

RE: MNF

I'd love to see Lawrence Taylor make a special cameo appearance, it would probably go something like this:

LT: Yeah Joe, remember when I brokeded yo leg?
Theisman: Yeah, that ended my career and pretty much ruined my life.
LT: Yeah, it was a good day for me too. Which brings me to my next point kids, Don't smoke crack.

+k to all including MR and Royal Achilles in celebration of the Twins in the series and in anticipation of the run at the AL Central title!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Update on Kofoed from the SC Times.

The thumb was examined Monday and is not fractured. But he is not expected to play when the Johnnies (2-0 MIAC, 4-0 overall) face fellow unbeaten Carleton (1-0, 3-0) in their homecoming game at 1 p.m. Saturday at Clemens Stadium.

“It’s about the best it could be,” Kofoed said Monday. “Nothing was broken or torn. Surprisingly, it doesn’t hurt all that much. I was expecting it to hurt more because I can’t throw.

...

Kofoed said he hopes to be back by the time the Johnnies play St. Olaf on Oct. 7 in Northfield. Until then, he plans on helping in any way he can.

Plus I agree with how many celebrities that show up on MNF!  It's getting rediculous!  I miss MNF being on ABC with Pat and Madden!

You can watch it on Sunday on NBC ... but Summerall was never on MNF. He and Madden did the Sunday NFC national games, most recently on Fox.
