Touchdown Tommy

MNF goes downhill like Bethel's season.  Freebird joins the traveling circus of MNF.  Coincidence?  I think not.

Planning ahead of time,
Got an e-mail from the alumni office yesterday that there will be a planning meeting this year on Oct. 14/ before the Gustie game for NEXT years Homecoming. Now that's planning ahead. If I were able to be there, who can give me a good reason to attend a planning meeting rather than Stifttungsfestivities?   :D :D

St. Thomas is getting worked this weekend by BU.  It's homecoming, they lost to Carleton, and Mighty Royal is pissed...those reasons = the trifecta and an automatic BU win!

Mighty Royal

I respectfully disagree.

I would like to join in the congratulations to the Twins.  My bro and I enjoyed a couple of Hamm's in celebration.

For thoughts on the Johnnies, it is too bad about Kofoed.  I'm still hoping the Hot Carles are an abbaration and we won't need him.  I suppose we will see this weekend though.

+k to all including MR and Royal Achilles in celebration of the Twins in the series and in anticipation of the run at the AL Central title!

I think special thanks should be given to the SF Giants ...  8)

Wow, that will teach me to have plans for the evening and not be on the board.

ROR-you are a very bad man! I have never even broken a bone...let alone had one removed! ;)

sjusection105- Alas, Animal House is no longer standing, but there are plenty of other frat houses around campus. Johnson Hall aka Dean Wormer's office is still there!:D

One of my favorite Animal House quotes: "Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"

Watching Joe T. on MNF is nearly as uncomfortable as watching the footage of him breaking his leg...over and over again!!

Congrats Twins!!! ;D

At the risk of alerting other MIAC coaches to this talent pool, and perhaps cutting off this important SJU feeder, I post this...

Fins, would I be correct guessing that Bob is John's brother?

I love how the PP can take time to write this story but has yet to send a writer to a MIAC game this season.  Their lack of MIAC coverage is really irritating.  They'd rather send 3 writers to the Golden Rodents game to write about how the Gophs would have won if it hadn't been for the 500 yards given up through the air.

Bennie, my most sincere apologies.  That was the vicodin talking.   ::)

When are you going to make it to a game in C'ville?

Reusse's Between the Quotes column has this...

Next for Carleton: Johnnies

New coach Kurt Ramler has Carleton off to its first 3-0 start since 1997, including Saturday's 17-14 upset of Bethel in the MIAC opener.

Carleton had lost 12 in a row to Bethel. The Knights lost by a combined 266-30 in the previous six meetings, including 76-2 in 2001.

Two big plays involved offensive tackle Matt Topeff. On the first, he took a lateral and ran Carleton into scoring position. On the second, he took a lateral and threw a pass to Matt Frank that covered 53 yards for a game-winning touchdown.

Ramler now takes his upstart Knights to St. John's, the team for which he was a standout quarterback.

The Johnnies will be without Alex Kofoed, their No. 1 quarterback.

Kofoed dislocated his right thumb when he caught it in the face mask of a Concordia (Moorhead) player during the Johnnies' 14-12 victory.

Michael Crees, a sophomore from Wayzata High, was Kofoed's replacement. Jesse Nelson also came off the bench to quarterback the Cobbers. They were the QBs when Minnetonka defeated Wayzata 23-14 in the 2004 Class 5A title game.

And this good quote from Torri...

The BTQ Bouquet Topic: Mike Redmond's contribution to the Twins as a backup catcher. "Redmond has been huge for this team. He keeps us loose, but he's also hitting over .300. If he were hitting .180, we would just be paying him to be funny. That doesn't work." — Torii Hunter
