There is a reason that Meidt and Steve Johnson are universally hated across the MIAC.  REMEMBER: it isn't just Johnnies who despise Bethel and all their coaching products....  :o  :o
I see your karma is back to normal.

Have to disagree with you for the first time in my life. Oles had 2nd stringers in. Game was over. Why didn't GAC take their starters out? GAC kept 1st string offense in to toss that 97 yd TD on the backups to get within 21. Then they on-sided it. GAC must not have thought game was over.
Coach S's message was obviously received by Ole bench and sent right back!!

Oh? I missed the onside kick on a bathroom break then, as I had no clue that happened. The GAC SID seemed to think the re-entrance and subsequent bomb was uncalled for, regardless of the ploy.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

TK must be getting frustrated then. The last Ole TD was not a bomb anyway. It was  10 yard swing pass to the halfback that went the distance. Can't blame the RB for going all the way if it's there. It's the coach's job to make sure of the victory. If the backup QB fumbles the snap at that point, you never know what can happen. He might have seen the Notre Dame game last week.
Can't figure GAC out. GAC D was tough througout. Olaf gained very little on the ground. GAC Offense not much help again other than a few plays. Some errant throws by their QB. The football gods owe them a few games after the last 2-3 years of bad breaks.

Just got home from the BU/STU football game.  Very good football game!  Awesome day and great crowd.  BU's defense is very, very good!  I notice on the stat's from the website at BU that STU had only 8 first down, 10 total with first downs.  60 yards rushing and 180 total!  I got to see them play against CC and nothing has changed since that game, they just bring pressure from all over the place!  The offense made some big plays when they need too.  Good job for the BU football team.

I also see at the SJU website that they had a good game.  It will be interesting if both of these teams keep winning, I see they play each other at the end of the season!!

Only one comment from the game, and as merely a correction to what has been posted.  Concordia won the toss in the overtime period.  They elected to go second.  We then chose the end to defend.  That is all that I will choose to say right now.  Will possibly post a more LAB post later.  Not in the mood for one right now.

Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Cobbernation-

Were you at the game today, or were you listening online?  Either way, your thoughts?

LAB,
I was listening online.

Augsburg deserves a lot of credit with their explosive offensive day.  Especially at QB when he had 180 yds passing in the first half.  Sounds like the run game was not to shabby either.  Although, the cobbers fought back from being down 14 early in the game.

One thing that I think that might of hurt the cobbs, was the switching of Qbs every quarter.  Shuey went 1,3 and Nelson 2,4, OT.  Cobbers knew that running the ball is there moto of pounding on defenses to score.  That seemed to work.  CC had 30 first downs today and 26 of them rushing.  CC had 438 yds rushing today on 76 carries.

It was a interesting game to listen too, but happy to come out of there with the W!

LAB-were you at the game today?  What did you think?

LAB,
Had to be a tough one. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Repete, Cobbernation-

First, yep, I was at the game.  For those that don't know, I am the lone exception to the "no active players posting" rule here.  I post, have posted, and will continue to post as a fan of d3 football, with intentions of coaching in the future, and all of my posts are without a pro- one sided stand.  I grew up in the MIAC, with my dad the head athletic trainer at Olaf since 1987.   So, yes, I was there.  I was #9, the punter for Augsburg, and a back-up qb.

My thoughts on the day.....

First, yes, from a quarterbacks perspective, it is very difficult to get into a rhythm when you only get 15 minutes of clock time to "work things out."   I would imagine it is also quite hard on the o-line and backs to get used to one guy, then have to readjust to the nuances of someone else.  I was wondering why the switching back and forth, and maybe you can inform me as to the switches, but, I'm sure it was a situation for the entire offense that was less than ideal.

As the qb that started the first game for us, it was hard to see myself moved down the depth chart.  However, as the Cobbers saw today, the person that replaced me is a very talented athlete, a great field leader, and has a lot to offer our team both this year, and for the next two.  I was very impressed with his outing today.  I feel badly for him that he will dwell on the play in overtime, and forget about the day that he had.  He made some good decisions with the football, and really gave us a chance to win today.

I was impressed with the Cobber o-line.  They did a very good job of doing their assignments.  Football really comes down to just doing your 1/11th.  Try to do too much, and you will open up opportunities for your opponent to beat you.  However, they did a very good job of doing what they were supposed to do on every play.

I was also impressed with the turnout today.  Not only from our fans, which is a great thing to see from our perspective, but also the "Cobbernation" as the sign said.  For such a long journey, it is great to see D3 football attracting so many, from so far, especially for a game that involved two teams 0-3 going in.

This was the best game that we have played this year.  I am very proud at how hard we played and hope that we can carry this over to the rest of the year.  We have Wartburg next, and hope that three weeks of MIAC opponents will have pushed us to welcome the IIAC and give them a good, competetive Saturday afternoon.  We know how good a team they are from the last two years, and know that we will have to have a great week of practice, and a great day on Saturday, but hopefully we can play one week from today as well as we did this afternoon.  We realize that today's effort was not enough, but at least we've found out this year what it feels like to truly compete.

I hope I've continued my streak of representing Augsburg Football and the numerous great young men we have with class and dignification through my comments here.  I will continue, and will continue to tell it from my perspective.  If any of you attend games with your respective teams vs. Augsburg, please stop by after and say hi.  I'd love to know just who hates us!   ;D      Oh, and I have to point out, that though our warm-up soundtrack had far too many cuss words for me (2), it actually only has 1 "B 96" song on it.  The rest is rock.

Repete -

Thank you for the well wishes.  We will learn all we can from this loss, and try to improve next week.
