Just received our Family Weekend brochure in the mail - and according to it, the Johnnies are playing Augsburg ...  ???  Who's in charge of these things?  ???

Nice efforts today by Augsburg and the Tommies.  I was certainly one of the ones who picked the Cobbers though.  :P

Johnnie Red

My thanks to everyone who helped make the Stiftungsfestivities such a great event yesterday. Beautiful day in Collegeville, unless you happened to be a Carleton fan. I must admit I was very impressed with Carleton's offense. The Ole-Carleton game should be a classic and a "must see" for everyone in Northfield and Dundas.

Very nice to meet Patty Wetterling and the spouse of Amy Klobuchar yesterday. Thanks to finsleft and ROR for making this happen. I can only assume that they will have Hillary R. Clinton at the Stiftungsfestivities in `08 when she is running for president.

Godfather: Can we get a run-down of who attended?

ROR: Let's see some pics, also I can't quite make out what it says on KR's shirt, Save a Hooker...

Johnnie Fans: Just got word from Northfield, Oles have inquired about a higher than normal water bill this coming week...
Chasing MILFs since '82...

ROR, Thanks for the good wishes. We had a great time. Of course, flowers always work no matter how long you are married. They also never never ever try to quit training you.  :D

TDT: I can answer some of your questions.

1.) I don't have all the connections that the Godfather has & I was drinking a lot more than he did, but I remember  ROR, Dusty SJU & Mrs. Dusty SJU, of course Godfather (Johnnie Red) and Veek, Veek's Dad, Wooderson, Kilted Rat & Mrs. Kilted Rat, MIAC Maniac, FinsLEFT ;),Frank Rickard. I did see Ritz72 at the game but not at the tailgate party. I'm sure I'm missing several others.

2.) Kilted Rat's shirt says "Save a Hooker...Ride a Tommie" it's from a Johnnie /Tommie game I believe 2002.

3.) Yes, my buddy owns a contractor rental supply business in Lakeville & somebody with a Northfield address came in & rented all his hoses & sprinklers for the ENTIRE WEEK along with a big industrial water pump
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

ROR,
I said that wrong - they never quit trying to train you is what I meant - but you probably already know that.  :P

Must be dyslectic this AM.

Nice work with flowers, but if you are looking for a great place to impress Mrs. 57 let me tell you about McDonalds!  Low prices, great food, and a friendly atmosphere.  Oh and just so everyone knows...Monopoly at McD's starts on TUESDAY!  Yes!

Yeah, but you can only get a Slider at White Castle  --  of course the nearest White Castle is at least 1500 miles from where I live. The nearest Popeye's is 150 miles over a mountain pass and we have people with such withdrawal symptoms that they drive it.  :'(

Just a random thought or two this bright sunny Sunday morning. I have the "Sports Package" on my dish and happened upon a football game broadcast by the Pittsburgh Fox Sports Net - Robert Morris v St Francis(PA). I believe they are Div !AA teams. It looked very much like a DIII game, both in level of talent, speed and atmosphere. The stands, such as they were, were about 2/3 full, and maybe 3,000 people in attendance. Maybe my evaluation as a layman is off quite a bit, but I think that the better teams in the WIAC and MIAC could stay with these teams. Pat if you have any knowledge of the conference (NEC - Northeastern Conf) feel free to put in your thoughts and set me straight.

LAB. Very insightful and interesting post today. I believe I speak for many when I say that we may be "enemies" within the MIAC, but when you go to play teams from other conferences, we want you to win, especially if it's with a highly regarded team. Good luck against Wartburg.

Pat Coleman

The NEC just started adding scholarships this season. Schools are permitted a maximum of 30 -- I would assume they're phasing them in.

Robert Morris just beat Rowan 21-0 last week after Rowan came off consecurive bye weeks. Rowan beat Robert Morris last year at Rowan in overtime.

They're a smidge above the best of the Pioneer League non-scholarship teams (that's Drake, San Diego, Davidson, Valpo, etc.) and miles above the MAAC (St. Peter's, Iona, LaSalle).

Thanks! I should have known that you are the guru of all that is football, and would provide us with more than I asked for, but all that I hoped for. It also raised my self-esteem as a knowledgeable fan. XXXXXOOOOO

We had a Popeyes nearby when we lived in Southern California and it was by far my favorite chicken place - and the red beans and rice as much as the chicken.  I haven't seen one up here yet, though maybe that's for the best.  I usually spent the next morning in the crapper!  :P
