Feature on Concordia's Dustin Carlson, who had to leave the team due to cancer. His last game was against the Johnnies.

Sorry if this story was brought up already. With the two Twins games this week, I was away from the board and skipped out on the 30 pages of SJU/CAR highlights.

Nice find, PI.  Best wishes to Dustin and prayers on a successful recovery.  I know of several individuals that have survived this type of cancer.  Live Strong!

He's listed as a Junior on the Concordia roster, and it would be excellent to see him back on the field next fall (just not in the Johnnie backfield :) )

PI, Thanks for posting that.  I had not seen/heard about this.

Best wishes to Dustin on a speedy recovery.

Also the sound coming from my hand coming out of my stance was eerily similar to those you hear late at night while you are watching Cinemax!!   :o

Duff, How was fishing yesterday? Had to have beat watching the Twins!
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Not much better.  Boat problems...now my buddy has a $500 bill :'(  We only managed 3 sturgeon and a channel cat, but we had beer, so it was still fun.

That is way too much information.

The urban legend (which I made up) is the Raiders pounded 10 penny nails through the bottoms of their shoes in that game and it is the "sole" (pun intended) reason they won the game in 93.

I am still concerned about who this Tom Porter Fieldhouse guy is? He bought the sprinklers. JR should know him if he is a Johnnie.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Yes, thanks for posting the article PI.  I have been aware of this since last Wed. but decided to not make a point of it until it was either in the news or ok with Cobber players and coaches.

We all wish him the best and look forward to seeing him on the field next season.  Go #11

It didn't by chance have a Northfield zip code did it?  I think the Johnnie in Northfield is leading the other successful football team on the South side of town, though, and he had to play the Jays on the artificial stuff this year.

Nate Porter, a 2004 graduate of Woodbury High School, is a wide receiver for Bethel.
(My son graduated with Nate)

His father, Mark Porter, is the former head football coach at Woodbury.  He was also the captain of the St. Olaf football teams in 1977 and 1978.

His father, Tom Porter, recorded a record of 174-116-10 as the head football coach at St. Olaf from 1958 - 1990.

I knew somehow Bethel had to be involved in this conspiracy.   ;D

Does anyone think this class could possibly be as entertaining as Gagliardi's "Theory of Football" class?    Note the members of the "Coaching Panel" on 4/21.

Syllabus for Gag's Theory of Football:

Class One:  Tell Jokes, Watch Game Films, Tell more jokes
Classes Two through Last:  Repeat

(Note:  One class will deviate when "Winning with No" will be covered.

Best class I took in 4 years at SJU.

SJU game notes are now up at gojohnnies.com.

They state that Kofoed "will return as starting quarterback" for the game

The class has now become more oriented on meeting people of the opposite sex, too.  For example, we spent one entire day with the females in the class spread around the gym, then us fellas had to rotate through and talk to each female for 5 minutes or so.

Easily the best class offered at SJU.
