Any comment I've made on here is based on seeing BU play.  I wouldn't say I'm bias because of it.  I've made it clear from the very start that the only games I've seen are ones that BU has played in.  I've also made it clear that my grandson has shown an interest in BU and that's why we have watched them play over the past few years.  I'm sure if I had seen SJU play this year, I'd make comments about them as well, that wouldn't make me bias towards them.  Anyway, I see this site has nothing to do with making comments about football, just dipsh-t's ragging on each other.  Best of luck to "ALL" teams tomorrow and god forbid if BU wins, it will piss off alot of people if they do!!

I believe you should use the term biased, not bias. :P

Duff,
Remember, he didn't go to Bethel, he's just an unbias fan of football from Northwestern so we can't expect him to have grammar skills.

Tommies suck.  KR, will you be there?

Not looking real good at this point. I will more than likely be in South-western MN chasing pheasants.

Boo!

Time will tell, however that's the leaning at this time.

Bethel, on the other hand, is looking very good!

Amazing game at the HHH Dome yesterday.  NDSU is awesome, UM not!  I sat in the NDSU section with thousands of Bison fans.  And they were loud.  NDSU should have won the game, but had a last second field goal blocked.  Bison could run and pass the ball all over the gopher D, and the gopher offense passed the ball all day and put in some runs here and there.  I believe that the win might save Mason's job til the end of the season, but who knows from there.  Bohl might have a great chance of getting an extension in the near future.  I think he might be getting some offers from some D-1A programs soon.  I believe that he coached at Nebraska before he came to NDSU.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the Bohl led Bison will play in a Janurary 1 Bowl game...heck, a BCS Bowl Game before ANY Mason led team be it Gophers or where ever he ends up next.
I believe it was Johnnie Esq. who noted the University isn't going to buy out that contract anytime soon. We can only dream :D

BTW: Aren't we all happy that we have our MIAC Team, be it Royals, Auggies,Oles,Cobbers, Tommies,Pipers,Knights or Johnnies to cheer for?!

The one significant difference in yesterdays game was the personal foul calls on the Oles.  More F's yesterday than a Flutherans report card.. Their parents must be proud.

Well, for the runaway league leader in personal fouls (you can look it up! :;) , they didn't have that many.

But the two they had were amazing stupid.

One moved Bethel from its own 1 out to the 15.

The other gave the Royals a first down inside the Ole 10 ... 2 plays later: TD Royals.

Stupid moves when they WERE still in the running for possible playoff spot.

Congrats to Porta!

TDT;

I'm predicting fine weather for the tilt on Cretin Ave. come Saturday.... we can always wish for something less than temperate as the USTD attendance will be significantly impacted where as folk like the Godfather, Duff, Theo, 105 and Veek think it's just starting to get comfortable out.  I'd include Esq. and Irish however they don't show anymore.

I'm really beginning to question Irish's commitment to this party....

In closing Boca Boy, why so curious about weather and a game plan?  Are you attempting to craft one which delivers you via 56321 to the gates of Clemens East?

Definetely develping....

Well, it doesn't suprise me to see people ragging on my lack of grammar, spelling, etc.  I keep forgetting that this is a "rag on each other site", not a "football site".  But then again, I was right when I said there would be alot of "pissed off" people if BU won.  Life if full of excuses and I see most "dipsh-ts" on this site are full of them.

Now that I've pissed a few of you off, yesterday's game was a fun one to watch.  My grandson is looking at both BU and STO, along with SJU and UMD.  We sat on the olaf side and visited with some of the folks from STO.  Both programs are very good.  Both offenses were very good yesterday.  It came down to what I thought it would, BU controlling the ball running and BU defense having to stop the pass.  I thought going into the game BU would stop the runnning game, they did.  I was suprise that BU didn't pressure more, I'll bet more than half the time they only rushed 3.  Either way, BU held STO below their normal averages in all phases of the game, simular stats to the SJU game vs Olaf.

I think my grandson wouldn't go wrong at either place.  The QB from both schools were awesome yesterday.  Porta is very good--to say otherwise, you are a dipstick!  I mentioned in a previous post that BU would stop most teams rushing the ball, they have all season.  Considering they only rushed 3 most of the day, I think they did well.  Most of STO passes were short, intermediate routes.

....I am a NWC graduate and very proud of it.  I also enjoy the game of football and when I see good teams, I like to compliment them on it.  I have now seen BU, STO, STU, and all three are very good.  There's no question, at least from my point of view that BU has the better defense, STO a more well rounded offense, STU is second to both BU and STO in both area's.  Great Job both teams!

Considering so far this season they have played Hamline (1-4 in the MIAC), Augsburg (0-7), GAC (1-4 in the MIAC), Valley City State, Luther (1-7) and Concordia (2-4 in MIAC), I would certainly hope any team with a winning record would hold them below their season averages!

I would imagine any D3 team with a winning record (outside of NWC or any other team my high school would beat) would hold St Olaf under their season averages.

Scrubby 41:

Which side of the ball does your grandson play on?

It goes without saying that education should be the top priority, which school would meet his needs on the football field?

I have an elderly gentleman that has tickets next to mine at SJU, he commented yesterday that Hamline came after his grandson hard but he chose SJU even though it is very likely he may not see anything but Special Teams until his SR. year. There are too many of those stories I could tell you, kids who could have been 3 or 4 year starters at most places in the MIAC but chose SJU.

He has to find a school that fits his needs and needs to go into the situation with his eyes wide open. There are pros & cons to both. If he goes to a school on the "upswing" can the coach deliver on his promise that your grandson will be "part of something special" I know the story, they all tell the same one. If he does choose SJU make sure he knows that he has to be VERY special to get a look, with 180+ on the roster.

ROR,
Well, it takes not having a life (or at least not being able to get to a good live game and having to spend  Saturday afternoons listening on the Web) . . .

I opened up the boxscores on school sites.

With a Firefox browser you can do it fairly easily: hit  control-F , type in "STO penalty" and hit highlight all. Then sort out the PFs in the play by play. My count before last weekend had STO far ahead of the league's top echelon.

105,

Thanks for the insite.  He actually plays both ways right now that they are in the playoffs.  He is a LB and a FB on offense.  He's been a three year starter at LB.   If he attends a school in the MIAC, school, football and environment will be very important.  He already knows how special SJU is.  Any program that has the success they have each year has something very special going on.    I think he's very interested in UMD as well.  He had a visit there two weeks ago and was very impressed with the school and the chance to play there right away.  Anyway, thanks for the "kind" words of encouragement and insite.

Now that's interesting--St. Olaf played SJU just a few weeks ago and you didn't mention them.  I wonder if it's because they didn't hold St. Olaf under their season average????
