I just got to thinking, it can't be too fun to be a Gopher football player this year, maybe we can get Decker to transfer to SJU. I hope he's really homesick and wants to play closer to home. ;D

We are looking for you to broker this deal!

Knights,

Don't take it personally...just stating facts and yes I can read, its necessary for my other job, i digress...back tothe matter at hand, Tommies vs Johnnies, I think the tommies will be able to play with the Johnnies for a while, but history shows that once the J's defensive coaches make the necessary adjustments it will be a Johnnies win...

"but history shows that once the J's defensive coaches make the necessary adjustments it will be a Johnnies win".....

SJU has outscored its opponents 84-0 in the third quarter so far this season.

Well, this certainly explains the fascination with Chuck Norris.  It's like short people who feel the need to wear elevator shoes.   ;D

Doesn't say much for the rest of the world, does it? ;D

BTW, MR, Bethel needs you, 1-7 conference record, yikes.

Played outside linebacker for the scout team my Junior year as well and was in as an outside linebacker for 2 plays against Hamline!

Did you call the all-out blitz and then give the ol' elbow drop after sacking the quarterback?? According to SJU law, you have to give the back-ups every chance to secure a favorable memory in limited action, even if it means calling the triple-reverse option pass with the 5th string QB (with obligatory fake 2-point conversion) while up by 80 points late in the fourth.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Each year I have to tell someone this.....SOCCER IS THE MOST POPULAR SPORT IN THE WORLD!  Like it or not! ;) :)

Don't knock CN...he's my boy! ;D

The person I want to see you tell is precisely CN - and (since you purport to channel for Chuck) you know exactly what he would say - "Soccer is for wussies (he'd use the "p" word though) who can't play a real sport."  Now you may not believe that but the CN personna you present to us daily on this board would say exactly that.  And you know it.   8)

People say the truth hurts, but it hurts a hell of a lot more when it comes from Chuck Norris.

MR- thanks for the info, thats good to know, although I'm not a fan of soccer. FIFA '06 on XBOX however, is a kick ass game, so you got that goin for you. I think soccer is similar to the NHL, more peope get excited about the video games than the actual sport.

In response to Bethel being dirty in the late 90s and early 00s, I cant argue, I wasnt here. That was back when Miedt was in town, I think we were a bigger group of assholes back then. Coincidentally, that was when we were winning conference championships too. If I had my druthers, Miedt would coach BU instead of J, but the defensive staff would be retained, along with Swannie (fun running backs coach). I think BU lost an edge they had, an explosiveness in the offense when Miedt left. Some might say its because of the loss of Kirchoff and Johnson (which may be a good point). But Bethel still has awesome players on the offensive side of the ball, and until a small rebound this year, the O had become stagnant and predictable. The playbook had about three plays last year. Strech left, Stretch right, and belly pitch.

Aw come on, let's not include hockey in this!! There is no comparison between guys in pads/helmets carrying big sticks and guys running around in shorts!! :D The ad for the new NHL video game cracks me up. Nothing like five-hole and anaconda comments made at the same time! Subtle! ;D ;)

I submit that hockey requires more, different athletic skills than any other sport. Most people can't even skate worth a crap. Try skating and puck handling, passing, shooting while going 20+ miles an hour, while other guys going 20+ miles an hour are trying to knock you into the boards. The fastest game without a motor.

Very well stated and I would likely agree, along with the dominance by SJU has impacted the student body's passion for the rivalry.  After all not much of a rivalry if the same team always wins.

VOJ
Facts are good, nothing personal taken.  Adjustments are keys to any winning program and SJU has proven they are adept at making the right adjustments and that is something that UST needs to improve upon if they expect to compete week in and week out.  Usually a direct reflection upon the coaching staff and no one has won more than the old man.  Pressure on UST maybe, but I think most of the pressure in a game like this is always is on the heavy favorite

BU defense--injuries suck especially to kids who have shown they can play and then get it taken away from them.  Too bad for your guy Mullenberg.
