I didn't actually buy anything...I was just looking! ;D Next week I think I will drive up to the Linfield game...it gives me an excuse to go shopping in Portland where I will be buying things! ;) Really I am just reasuring ROR that I am female! ;D

Consider me reassured.  And back from UST.

ROR, are there any pics coming from your visit to the game in the near future?

Having been out all day and just getting back, I have to say I had a little chuckle at this next post by RA...

Maybe BU and the Johnnies should just get together for some volleyball???

Don't have to be a seer to guess at the trouble these turnovers would cause the johnnies against the royals.... unless, of course, the bethel contingent continue to throw it away just as often!

SJU boys and girl,

Congrats on the win today.  SJU made all the big plays, and could have won by more if they could hold onto the ball.  Kofoed's thumb must still be bothering him based on his fumbles.  The week off should help him.  UST got the breaks I was referrring to with the fumbles deep in their own territory, the exception of the opening kickoff return but offense couldn't do much to help out the defense, which was my concern going into the game.  I haven't seen the SJU 3rd down conversion percentage but it must have been close to 70%.  It appeared pretty easy to convert.
I thought the UST defense played great run defense but did give up too much on the shuffle pass at key times, which is just a "long" handoff.
I wish UST could have converted after the fumble in the 4th to make the ending a bit more interesting, but it wasn't meant to be
Not sure why Roney was stopping the clock inside 2 minutes at the end of the game, he couldn't think that STU was going to come back, all he did was allow enough time for SJU to score one last TD.
Sorry I didn't make it by the pre-game festivities, but I am sure I wasn't missed.  Nice day to view a game and glad you all had a good time.
Proud of my son and it was fun to finally get to see him play extensively in the big game.
He felt that Weber did not catch that long pass in the 4th quarter, he never controlled it and them dropped it, but refs felt otherwise.
ROR-Thanks for stopping by at the end of the game, you are a class act.  Thanks for your efforts with the pictures of #25 in purple.  Will be anxious to see what you got and don't worry if they aren't your best, I just appreciate the effort

Best of luck to both teams on 11-11 for the game to decide the conference championship.  I hope UST can win the rest of their games and wind up in third in the conference, 6-2 and 7-3 overall with losses to Central, Bethel and SJU (nothing to be ashamed of losing to those quality teams)  St Olaf will be tough though.

Great day today at Clemens South.  A somewhat dissappointing win by the Johnnies considering it easily could've been 45-7, but we'll take it.  The offense was not a pretty site today.  4 trips inside the 20 in the first half and only one touchdown to show for it.  Hopefully, we don't see fumbles like that again this year.

The defense however, is really coming into its own.  Gunderson is an animal.  I'm pretty sure Sauer was sick of him by the end of the game.  Also, the two freshman LB's (Rose and Wimmer) look better every week.  I think St. Thomas ended up with 25 rushes for 1 yard and only 130 or so through the air.  St. Thomas ran less than 10 plays inside Johnnie territory and 6 of those were on the scoring drive that started on the St. John's side of the field.

The official box score lists the attendance at 5800.  If that was the case (seems low) 4000 of that was SJU fans.  That must be a little disheartening for the UST players to see their fans outnumbered by that many inside your own stadium.

Well, it's looking like the game on Nov. 11 is shaping up to be a doozy once again.  It should be a lot of fun.

SJU faithful at the game--Curious to any "true" assessment of the UST squad, if you are interested in chiming in?  Nothing personal will be taken from your comments (assuming it is more than ....suck, which is so over) just seeking honesty from some other football minds.

Speaking of questionable clock management, what was the deal with UST at the end of the first half trying to run a hurry up offense with all 3 timeouts left, and not using any of them?  I realize there was only about 30-40 seconds left when they got the ball, but if you were just trying to get to halftime, why not just take a knee?

Good point, I guess only the coaches know that answer but didn't make sense to me either.  That score at the end of the half hurt, almost as much as the int return coming out of the 2nd half.  Two quick scores and I thought here we go again, but the UST defense played pretty tough the rest of the second half, I thought

knights - The SJU announcers were very complementary to the Tommie "D", They said that they were hitting and that's what was causing fumbles, rather than that old "Homer" excuse of we weren't holding on to the ball. they also remarked more than once how tough Sauer was to get hold of and bring down.

Knights;

Any chance you could get your squad to budget for some new down markers?  Those things look like they've been through a mud bath and then left out in the desert to dry.....  from our vantage point they are extremely difficult to see.

As for your squad... no playmakers.

Not a running back, not a wide receiver and no dispruptive dline or backers.

Congratulations Johnnies!

Congratulations to B. Royce-Diop... Big Boy, we've been waiting to see that aggresiveness from you since your sophomore year... keep the mo goin'!  I particularly liked the way Diop paid little attention to the kicker and kind of just blew by him...!

MIAC Defensive MVP should be overwhelming awarded to sophomore, #98 Nick Gunderson - The guy is a one man wrecking machine!

Heal up, relax and see y'all in two weeks...
