OK

To start off, I am a MAC poster in the East that frequents the Liberty League as well.  I periodically come over here as this board is very enjoyable as well.

I do have one question.  I see frequent references to Hamms.  I have a beer distributer near me : http://www.statelineliquors.com/  who's claim to fame is having over 1000 different beers on premises.

Last time in the store I queried about Hamms to see if they had it.  The manager did not think it had been brewed in many years, however the owner, did mention that it still is, but now is a low quality beer, (Like a schlitz)....

My question here is:  Is the Hamms reference an inside joke, or is this a beer that you drink and actually enjoy.

Also is this available anywhere on the east coast?

comments appreciated...

bman-
Finally a subject I know something about. You tell Mr. Stateline and Mr. Owner to brush up on their beer knowledge. They sound like beer snobs to me. Probably put fruit in the beer they drink. Hamm's is a quality beer that I both drink and enjoy. In fact, the more I drink, the more I enjoy. 8)

Well put, finsleft as always.  :)

I did find this link on where to locate Hamms:

http://www.hammsclub.com/LocateHamms.htm

Not sure if that will help bman, but we loyal Hamm's drinkers appreciate your interest.  ;D

Speaking of Hamm's, I am going to have to drink a couple 13-14 Hamm's before I dress up like the Michelin Man to take my kids trick or treating tonight.

My little girl is going as a bride.  :P

Surprisingly enough they are very down to earth guys...If you saw where the store is, and you knew how they built that business, they are anything but snobs...Statistically, the odds of knowing every beer out there (especially if it is not available on your coast) is tough. ..try getting a Fat Tire out here.... The fact the they knew it at all, means they at least have some experience.

I was just inquiring if maybe there was a "bad beer" joke going on..such as the case with National Boehemian out here...

I will look around to see if it is sold anywhere else, although the chances are low...We have a local brand here called Yuengling (which we call "vitamin Y") which is our version of your Hamms....

I wish I could get Fat Tire here, too.  That stuff rocks!

Although I would not call Hamm's a premium beer, it's not exactly bottom of the barrel.  30 packs in my neck of the woods are running around $15-$16, which is about what you'll pay for a case of the normal Miller/Anheuser products.

You'll find most of us SJU guys like to drink anything that the other guys is buying ;D

Johnnie Red

Touchdown Tommy, my apologies for not posting much this week. Between getting everything ready for the Johnnie Red re-election party on Friday, November 10, having everything else ready for the Stiftungsfestivities the next day when the Royals come to town and being totally ready for the Chaska homicide trial that I am prosecuting along with my criminal division chief attorney that starts on Monday, November 13, not much time for anything else.

I did manage to get 5 lbs. of the Stiftungsfest burger shipped off to my little girl at UC-Boulder today for the pre-game party she will be attending this coming Saturday.

Happy Halloween everyone. Always good to know my Badger son did not get arrested this past weekend in Madison. ;)

KR, I would greatly appreciate as a loyal BU fan, if you or anyone else knows the whereabouts of White Silly, please stick a feather on him and let nature takes its course......  the reefer madness is getting really embarassing. Cheese, fo'rozzle my nozzle, which means in the urban dictionary "originated from a typing mistake that turned out to actually spell something.. do you know nothing about karma.  The winningest coach of all time, and we question wether he can coach?  This guy speaks in a few weeks in San Antonio with Jo Pa and I dont know who else?
And if you know this Amaru Silly, tell him to stick a bong in it and call back in the spring...  and KR, if you get a bead on this guy, your gonna have to really lead him,  cause he is already way out there..........  Of course this all in jest... :-\

I only have a 20 guage, which won't reach as far out there as this bird already is.

What is the Johnnie posters take on the bye week? Does it help or hurt them.  And how does this change their practice routine?

Considering the "normal" tone of SJU practices, I don't think things can get much lighter.
I believe the entire purpose is to get all of the players healthy for the playoffs.

KR, then I think they should go full on helmet to helmet smash mouth practices just to get ready, er, something like that...

Got it here, Duff....thanks to a UST connection that was visiting the Mile High city.... but yeah, its one of the smoothest beers i've had. If I remember to chill a 6-pak, I'll bring it with on 11/11

Yeungling is something you bring out when you want to have one or two and remember how good it is for more than an hour or so. Hamms is a beer that you develop a taste for when you have  limited funds (like college students) and when you plan on having a prolonged relationship with the hops and barley brew.  Hamms, however, when it was a proprietary beer, had the best commercials ever.

By the way, if you haven't noticed, when you step in here, prepare to have your lower appendage stretched just a bit. Have a Natty Bo for me.

Achilles,
Comparing stats can be misleading, but one difference in the games was that SJU was up huge and STO added a lot of its yards late. From my distant viewpoint, it sounds like Wetzell's mobility might be better than most of the QBs we've seen. Wish I could get there. If I wasn't coaching Saturday, I have a bumped-flight voucher burning a hole in my pocket.

Natty Bo . . . currently $3.68/six at a local stop ... I'll have one for you tonight, RetAgent. (Although they always taste better in Fells Point with a bucket of mussels ...)

Frank and Mongo: What do you guys think of the girl on the left?  :o  :o

I'm very familiar with the girl on the left...I've harrassed her many-a-times at a certain restaurant in St. Peter.  And by "harrassing" I mean talking to her about how much cooler I am than Wonka.  Of course she agreed, and we've been friends since.
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job

I am yet to learn about this medical prcedure, but I am very intrigued.

I will attempt to research this subject as scientifically as possible and report back with results ASAP.

Since the Johnnie faithful brought this up a few days ago, and how many times can a Piper say they beat the Johnnies, but Hamline beat St. John's 1-0 in the MIAC Men's Soccer semifinals today.

The Pipers and Gusties play for the title and a spot in the NCAA tournament Saturday afternoon. The Johnnies beat the Pipers, 1-0, in the regular season.
