Sorry we missed you yesterday. Wick-man and his buddy Rick and Pat T of the famous flying Tomcziks and I took in the "Cereal Bowl" .

Then the hospitality of Pat with some great food again. Not much of a game as expected.

How in the HE double hockey sticks did Carleton beat Bethel?

Fabulous day for a game and Indian Summer has hit for this week. Hope it "falls" into next weekend.

Also planning the gourmet jello for next week and some special inported mustard for the brats and burgers.

Duff I have your new gear for the game.

See ya  Friday for the Victory Bash!

Then Saturday for Victory Bash Two or is it TOO (KR?)

Just happened to notice before posting this.....Cheese is already counting on a Behtel loss. NICE!

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

farley, what school does your brother run for? I ran into a gal from my hometown yesterday who graduated with my youngest brother in high school. She was an All-American at Iowa State as a runner. She has a daughter who runs for Minnetonka. Minnetonka finished second in Class AA.

Always a great experience going to the state meets. Get to see coaches who were coaching back when I was in high school. Always nice to see Hank Larsen, the coach from Glencoe-Silver Lake.

JR- He ran for Cathedral, senior year so it was the last race of his HS career, but he did match his PR for time so he did a great job on that tough course they've got out there.  That finishing hill is crazy!!

We now return to our regularly scheduled football, Hamms, CAC, and whatever else discussion.....

Faunch-
Tech lost to Willmar, who lost to Hutchinson, 31-3. I don't know specifics about Tech but I can tell you they play a fairly good schedule, but that if I was a betting man, I think Hopkins continues their incredible run Friday.

JR-
Saw the name Jim Fahey on the marker board at work on Friday and got the whole rundown of who's who in the Fahey family from a co-worker that went to school with you in Glencoe. It's funny how everybody knows everybody out here. Biscay was a good time last weekend as well.

With football and volleyball teams losing in finals, I might be up in Collegeville Saturday. Should be a good one.

I also haven't seen Bethel play since fall 2003, so I'm definitely not the guy to ask on that one.

Not true!  You and the Mrs. sat by Steph and I at Bethel last fall.

Anybody attending the Hopkins/St. Cloud Tech game on Friday night?  I'll be there filiming it for Hopkins.  What does anybody know about the Tech Tigers?
Hopkins has really put it together the last few weeks and has gotten some breaks.

I don't know much about Tech other than they've got a decent RB in Taylor Ford, a good QB in Tye Dill and very good WR's in Aaron Fruth and Collin Stinogel.  Like most teams in the CLC, they aren't overally big, but are usually pretty quick and athletic.

If you've never been to a game at Clark Field, enjoy it.  It was always one of my favorite places to watch a HS game.  The stands run the entire length of the field, are only about 10-12 rows high, and are only about 10 feet from the sidelines, so the fans are right on top of the players and the game.  I would expect the place to be completely packed Friday.

Nice, good report Bennie.  Thank you very much.  Will need more details when Whitworth comes to Collegeville on Nov. 25.  Did you attend the tailgate hosted by GHC and Coco?

President TDT

TDT,

GHC and I don't host the tailgate. Some nice guys do that. We're just some of the participants with our food and alcohol.

Maybe the Johnnies will get to play the Rats, if the Rats make it that far, which I doubt. I just don't see them going as deep into the playoffs as you guys will.

As for Linfield, we shot ourselves in the foot yesterday with our TOs, but you know how that goes with the up and down years.

Congrats to SJU on winning the MIAC championship, and good luck in the playoffs.

My apologies to KR, SJU, Ritz and anyone else I am forgetting, there are a lot of you guys with a lot of class.  I am not a BU poster coming out of the woodwork, I have not posted on the BU SJU game for a while, and I will officially end my year win or lose with this post.  The one thing I will say about you boys including your poster chilld TDT is you suport your team even after many of you have graduated years ago. I have one year left,( yeah, sorry TDT,) but, you johnnie fans continue to follow your team year in and year out.  BU and the rest of the MIAC dosen't  have that passion.  That is why you put `10,0o00 in the stands every weekend. And that in my opinion is your biggest advantage.  It is you .....Your team should be proud, and I am excited as the underdog to bring my family from many miles to see this last game for the MIAC chamionship.  I am really proud to be a part of this weekend, and I hope in some small way you are too.

Oh yeah, good point!
Bethel's performance wasn't really memorable  ;D

I do remember every time they did that damn "Defense, Defense" jumping up and down chant SJU averaged about 17 yards.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

QuoteThe comment is that I am quite confident that I won't be told by Bethel fans that I like dick.

Fuanch-

You like dick.

Sincerely,

*actually, i have no idea if you do. But i just wanted to be a Bethel fan/student who actually does stay stuff like that. Actually, should I make the trip to Collegeville, you will find me in the parking lot, beer in hand, being classy and giving out backhanded compliments to Johnnies that pass by.

Also, dont mistake my previous statement as a prediciton of a Bethel win of anything of that nature. I am looking into the Bethel injuries and will be making my final prediction later this week.

That said, if Bethel O doesnt turn it over like last year, I like Bethel's chances. But I think I like the Johnnies chances even better.

Reasons to come later this week.

BUdefense

I've been gone all weekend, so my apologies for the onslaught of posts here, but just wanted to add a few comments about the BU/Auggie game.

1) Wow, Augsburg is really bad.

2) The Carr brothers never cease to amaze me. Amazing athletes, a knack for making the big play. On top of it, they are some of the nicest and most humble kids you will ever know, you would never know how good they are from talking to them. If God permits me to have children, these guys are who you hope they grow up to be. Hopefully they continue to play well next week.

3) Good for Zach Danielson scoring a touchdown. The kid has talked for years about how he'd be a stud fullback. I'm not saying a TD run of such a short distance proves him correct, but I wouldnt have minded seeing him in short yardage situations prior to this.....might have won us the game against GAC last year when we fumbled it on the 2........

4) The Royals are in big trouble next year without Porta. And I mean BIG trouble. Sure, his line is a big factor in his production. But comparing Porta and Jared Bangs (his primary backup) is like comparing Adriana Lima to the winner of a small town's beauty pageant. Its not that she's that good, its just that nobody else in town is worth looking at.

5) I'm hoping that nobody talks about A.J. Parnell on this board this week. Yea, he didnt do well in relief in a game a few years ago. He is gone now. The program has (thankfully) moved on. Let's rehash some other SJU/Bethel drubbings, but forget about the 2003 game. Bethel still holds onto this game because it represented an opportunity to put a defining win in the record books, and I think it had something to do with the subsequent 6-4 and 5-5 campaigns the next two years

AO

Why is it that Bethel alums are too afraid to predict a royal victory?  St. John's is far from invincible this season, as they were only able to beat a 2-7 Eau Claire team by 4, and a 3-6 concordia team by 2.  The ranking may be high, but they show serious signs of weakness.  I wouldn't be too worried about porta fumbling when Kofoed had serious trouble holding on against st. thomas.  Bethel has the talent to win the game, even the most hardcore johnnie faithful understand this and realize that losing to Bethel is a possibility.
