Chuck Norris Fact of the Day:

Chuck Norris is the only person to ever win a staring contest against Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder at the same time

Too bad TC, you bet on the wrong horses. :'(

Hey fins, maybe you should put a poll up on here for a day and have the posters vote for Govenor. See how the board leans and if it matches the final results.

My vote is for Pawlenty. The man deserves the job. He didn't run Minnesota into the ground in his 4 years so why change. (Let the debate begin!)

And his wife is a Bethel grad!

I believe I may have read that a time or ten on this board.  You guys can support your MIAC connections.
Two words:  THE STREAK

Fins good joke, but it's not about betting on horses. To paraphrase Thoreau: If you're right, you already have a majority of one.

I realize that many of you are into politics, but we've run into problems with political discussions in the past, so let's stick to SJU running rampant on BU, Hamm's, and hot chicks, okay?

A tradition unrivaled...

We really should refrain from politics on here.  If you get myself, ROR, KR or others going, it's really hard to stop us.  Much better over a few Hamms and in person!

That said, GO VOTE.

You know I'd be up for some political discussion.  Out of curiousity, what sort of problems arose from these dicussions in the past?

I've got a feeling that a recent article written by one of my teammates in the Northwestern student paper would anger a few thousand miac fans as he made the claim that you are not a christian if you vote for a democrat.  I've tried to put some sense into his head on the issue but his slippery slope is apparently, far too slippery.

I'm actually contemplating coming up to collegeville on saturday to see the johnnies get beat.  Don't think I can really support Bethel, after they spray-painted "B U" at the 50 yard line at Northwestern, and were seen tossing many water balloons onto the field during Northwestern's homecoming game, which stopped the game and nearly caused a forfeit.

Combining Bethel and politics, a friend of mine, austin bleess, who graduated in 3 years from Bethel last may is running for District 11B state house rep.    Good luck Austin!

I would but, just like PC's karma policy, they won't let me vote again until tomorrow.

I'm writing an article that says you are not a football fan if you don't go to Collegeville and cheer for the Johnnies.

Johnnie Red

sju56321, I will have my usual two grills, nothing more, nothing less. I know Veek has one, as does Johnnie Esq. I trust Veek will be in Collegeville Saturday morning. I'm not sure about Johnnie Esq.

In terms of voting, remember, if you live in Carver County, please vote for JOHNNIE RED for county attorney. ;)

Sounds like the re-election party this Friday night could be rocking. Talked to the leader of the bluegrass band, Hillbilly Cadillac, who will be playing. They have made up some special songs for the event. All we need now is a guest appearance by Paris Hilton and life will be perfect. ;D

SJU and Gagliardi will be featured on WCCO Channel 4's Out 'N' About with RJ Fritz on Saturday, Nov 18th at 10:30 p.m.

Johnnie Red: I'll bring along the "big red tent" on Saturday morning as well.  Hoping to bring some Grouper filets up for everyone to devour.  Makes walleye taste like carp...

Someone has been messing with TDT's karma again! We just got that fixed!!

JR Good luck with the election today. Carver County will be a better place if you can defeat all of those write in candidates. ;)

During the last presidential election, PC had specifically requested we keep political mentions away from the football boards.  He did create a special board for politics and deleted it soon afterward, and while there were a few interesting discussions, PC does not get paid to police it and does not want to police it (and I don't blame him).  So we try to keep clear of it here out of respect for PC's desires.

We do span the political spectrum on these boards, and even among Johnnie fans we do, as I suspect is the case at NWC as well.  Isn't it nice to know that the one thing we can all agree upon is MIAC football???

Whoever wins the elections tonight, it won't change that Saturday is still the biggest day of the week.  So do your citizenry duty and vote ("give to Caesar that which is Caeser's?') and let's talk football.

I'm always open for political discussions via PM (subject to work constraints) and I assume others are as well.

Zip, I unfortunately roomed with an Ole during law school, who has decided that this weekend would be perfect to get married to his girl.  So I will not be in attendance in Collegeville this Saturday, but if someone wanted to bring my grill up I would certainly allow its use for the cause.  He's also a Sioux fan-- he has time to be, since the Oles tend to be done so early.....

Just start the grills earlier...I am thinking maybe around 7am.

What about ROR's handy-dandy hybrid table/grill?
