ROR;  For what ever reason our O-line trends toward brunette... you'd have to go back to the Matt Nelson era to find yourself a blonde! ::)

It would be interesting to know how many plays calls Jim made for Linneman and Keating and how many he makes for Kofoed. I saw Kofoed check off to Gearman for little slant pass-maybe Kofoed should be calling more of his own plays. But, not sure the offense was the real problem-when the defense can't get off the field-doesn't bode well.

When we met with John last spring I asked him about play calling as Austin Murphy's book suggested that the QB in the Johnnies' offense calls his own plays.  John said the coaching staff sends in "suggestions" about 50% of the time.  Obviously they have a scheme and set of plays for each game but was John shining us on?  How much play calling goes on the coaches and how much on Kofoed?

One Sunday, in counting the money in the weekly offering, the pastor
of a small Florida church found a plain pink envelope containing $1000.

It happened again the next week.

The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw
a little old lady put the distinctive pink envelope in the plate. This
went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her.

"Ma'am, I couldn't help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the
collection plate," he stated.

"Why yes," she replied, "every week my son sends me money, and I give
some of it to the church."

The pastor replied, "That's wonderful, how much does he send you?"

The old lady said, "$10,000 a week."

The pastor was amazed.

"Your son is very successful; what does he do for a living?"

"He is a veterinarian," she answered.

"That is an honorable profession," the pastor said. "Where does he practice?"

The little old lady said proudly, "In Nevada. He has
two cat houses in Las Vegas and one in Reno."

Nice to see the new posters on the board, particularly the now former players. Good to get your perspective on things. Do you think most MIAC players read this slop that us "jock sniffers" (HA! good one Jeff!) shovel each week? I see at least a couple of new Cobber players here. Before the season, I had you guys finishing 2nd, as did a lot of people. What in the hell happened this year? What will change next year?

Whatever happened in Collegeville last weekend...if the coaches weren't calling the plays, they should, and if the coaches were calling the plays, they shouldn't. And what DID happen to our D? When Bethel was racking up all those yards, where were Steffensmeier, Gunderson, MacNamara, Wimmer, Rose et al? Was the Bethel O-line that good to man-handle these guys all day?
I know this crap doesn't sit well with Haugen and adjustments will be made. Not quite as confident in the adjustments the O might make. And I ain't apologizing to nobody!

Since it appears to be sitting on some sort of tablecloth or something, I hope to God the answers not C.

I think the answer is B.  If it's A, whoever eats it better have some beano or pepto at the game Sat.

The thing that has always scared me about renaissance festivals is that you can't tell who works there and who the weirdos are that just like to dress up in tights and hang out there! ;D

My two cents (clink clink).

Unless I missed it Jim did not trip over the 15 yd line last week.

Jim did not drop one single pass that was thrown to him last week.

Jim did not have any of his passes intercepted last week.

Jim did not miss any of his blocks last week.

Jim did not have one single fumble last week.

He "played" a pretty good game overall.  Graded out at 100% based on the above criteria.

There is only one John Gagliardi. I am not sure being his son is any type of free pass but he has been a integral part of an extremly successful program for a lot of years as has been mentioned earlier.

"Earning his stripes" in high school is an insult. I would think Mike Grant for example would have to earn his stripes in college before he became a replacement for John but many think he is next in line. I guess his "recruiting skills at EP" would qualify him.

Jim was good enough in '03 with a team that many said couldn't stay with the Raiders and you know what.....the players took it to that same Raider team and earned a great victory. Does Jim get any credit for that? The consensus I heard is we were out coached too.

There is a staff of coaches that get credit for a win and the same is true for a loss. But the players on the field still have to execute the plan and I am not sure that was accomplished last week in particular.

It was the defense that couldn't get off the field to give the offense a chance to execute too. Maybe Jerry should go?

IMHO  Jim is not the problem.

But what do I know except I saw a pretty well "coached" team in '03 out execute another pretty well coached team at the Stagg Bowl. Kehres needs to go!

See ya this weekend in Pella!

Go Johnnies..Beat the Dutch.

Oh and on a side note...Go Raiders   Leave no Hope.

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Retired Old Rat

I agree 100% with Raiderguy.  Kehres must go!  Can't be too soon. ;)
