Buckman: TDT will be in the Official UnderArmour Minivan of Johnnie Football leaving Eden Prairie at 5am Saturday morning with an ETA in Pella of 9:30-10am.  Perhaps a Proxy meeting can be held on Friday night.

Godfather: What can we bring to assist you in hosting the Stiftungsfestivities??

fins: I was at the Panthers vs NY Rangers hockey game last week in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami.  Went up to the concession stand to get some food and beverage.  Almost shat myself when I saw a cold brew was 10.75....and it wasn't even Hamm's.  So prices are all relative to where you are...

Rumor: Duffman has lost the faith and will be staying home and listening on the radio...Hmmmm sounds like what I've heard 56321 is doing on Saturday.

You speak the truth KR!  ;)

Last night Bobby Knight slapped a player during a timeout!

Has anyone ever witnessed a coach striking another player in any sport?

Wow...you guys post at an astonishing rate!!

You should have been around in the week leading up to the RPI game a couple years ago. Those guys can talk big time smack. We may be Cla$$le$$  A$$hole$ lead by our President, TDT, but we are still "Minnesota Nice"

KR, can you post the X-ray of TDT, when they found the "obstruction" earlier this year after a hard night of drinking with the likes of Frank Rickard & Willy Wonks? This may give the Dutch fans a little idea that we are not all about breaking down film (mostly not about breaking down film)

My high school wrestling coach used to slap us upside the head, he called 'em "braindusters" and they weren't given undeservedly.
I got my share of them and I can't say a single one I received or anyone else I saw receive was undeserved though.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

At my high school (yes, we had them back then) run by the good Augustinian fathers, they had several interesting features:

  • In one class, if the kid in front of you acted up, you could take your book and smack him in the back of his head.  Boys dig that kind of fun.
  • In another class - several actually - the good father teaching the class had what he called "paddle parade" in which he would bring the offenders forward and have them bend over to receive a smack from the good father's collection of paddles.  If he forgot to bring his baddles down, he'd just use the leather belt he wore outisde his cassock.
  • And the priest who coached 7th and 8th grade football ... well, yes, I've seen a coach strike a player.
Bobby Knight is a pansy in comparison to the good Augustinian priests at that school (as you might have guessed by now, it was an all boys school - no wimin).

PI, did you get good photos of Rose for your fine publication?  If not, I have a couple that are ok.

Question for those who have been around a while and no the MIAC really well: Was the league down this year?  Obviously we'll know more along these lines after this Saturday, but looking for some general impressions.

Assuming we can get Porta reasonably healthy, I'm very optimistic about the LAX game and here's why.  This year's squad has proven capable of dominating a game physically against good teams. The other teams that Bethel has taken to the playoffs were of an entirely different character, running to set up the pass and beating teams with the superior athleticism and depth we had at the skill positions.  That worked great when the weather was good, but in the cold on a bad surface the flying circus struggled some.  This team runs the football so it can run it again, and again, and again.  I get the feeling that Saturday's result was all about the execution by the big bubbas up front for Bethel (simple but unstoppable offense). LAX presents a challenge BU is not used to seeing, but this teams has the pieces in place to get it done ;D.  Can't wait to wake up at 4 AM Sunday morning to listen in!

I believe Stam is the last name of the gentleman the award is named for.

Carl: I don't believe that the MIAC was down this year, I actually thought it was a bit better than usual.  Most of the teams presented challenges unlike previous years when alot of prepping wasn't needed for particular teams.  I know others may disagree with me, but it seemed as if not a single game got any easier this year being a Cobber and that's probably because we weren't where we wanted to be and because we struggled most of the year.  Let me know what you all think as well about the MIAC.  But, my overall thought was that alot of the teams improved this year compared to years past or last year.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Those Augustinians dont hold a candle to the Benedictine nuns I had in grade school...one drilled air holes in her paddle so there was less resistence... another had her final vows ring fitted so she wore it between the upper 2 knuckles and would smack you in the forehead with it. A third thought nothing of marching in the boys bathroom and slapping the backside of those keeping everyone waiting... despite all that, they were the best teachers one could have.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

You don't think Fr. Porecca didn't have air holes drilled in his paddles?  Think again!
