If anybody has the TV on, turn on ESPN II and watch the mud bowl between Miami and Bowling Green. Wow, this is amazing.

BVHawk

Yep.

Miami of Ohio - 9
Bowling Green - 7

Good thing Bowling Green had to wear the brown jerseys...almost like camoflage!

That game was nasty. You had to expect the kicker to slip or the holder to botch the snap on that last kick!! It was a frickin hurricane out there!! All and all a good game.

Not MIAC, but football related - Reusse's got a really good column on a kid from Luverne, Minn., named Chris Ashby. he would have been a star running back for Luverne this year, but was killed in a car accident over the summer. I used to cover Luverne when I worked in s'west Minnesota, though that was long before Chris would have been on the sporting scene. They're in the state semifinals this weekend.

Just gonna go out on a limb here but I think as President of the Classless A$$hole Club I retain power to speak for my membership.  BUDefense and Carl Spackler are by far the two best posters from Bethel.
Cheers, my friend!

Royal Ach-
Bennie got it right with my locale. The game isn't being played over the international date line, but I am. I am getting my football fix with IM flag football on base though :D. On the upside, I'm playing golf in winter on my downtime, and the Thai food here is wicked good as long as you remember to order the spice level somewhere between "Roundeye Wimp" and "Hell's Fire!" :o Lots of WWII history here as well.

Is it Saturday yet? GO ROYALS AND JOHNNIES!

Back in the days when the game  meant something I was a Boomer Sooner fan!

At least we have that in common (except during the Switzer era).  After all, Bud Wilkinson was a MN boy.  ;)  [Little known fact - Bud used to spend a week each summer doing a football clinic at Camp Lincoln near Brainerd - where I learned the MN fight song at age 10 or so.]  k back to you, Sum - I knew there had to be some redeeming feature.

The BG coach is an idiot.  The kicker was quoted as saying he wanted to kick from the left hashmark and the field was in good shape over on the left side, so the coach ends up leaving it over on the right side right in the middle of the slop.  There was no way the kicker was going to be able to plant his left leg - this one's on the coach.  :P

BU in a romp this weekend....they are just getting ready to unleash the full magnitude of their football prowess!

Did they scare you away from the WIAC board?  Maybe that's because JanesvilleFlash is twice the man Chucky Norris is :o

My observation from the SJU/Bethel game was that SJU fell asleep and BU capitalized.  Not taking away anything from BU..they played a great 2nd half, but my money says if they played again this weekend, SJU would win going away.  That being said, I expect the Johnnies to play hungry on Saturday and beat Central.  BU on the otherhand has proved in the past that their Stagg Bowl is against SJU every year and they won theirs this year!  They will get whacked by UW-LaCrosse...which is a VERY difficult place to play, and win!  I wish the Royals luck as an MIAC backer, but until they prove otherwise, they are a one and done playoff team....crappy draw by selection committee didn't help their chances either!   SJU vs UW-Whtewater in the Region Final with Whitewater moving on to the final four.

Barry was just the precursor as to all that is bad with modern college football! (See Miami Hurricanes etc.....)
