I posted this in the WIAC room, but I thought MIAC posters might want to offer an opinion too.

I've always thought the WIAC and MIAC should have an interlocking schedule agreement the way the NCHA and MIAC does in men's hockey.

You could set a rotating schedule for the next nine years to guarantee one WIAC/MIAC matchup and let the teams agree on whether to play in Week 1, 2 or 3 for maximum flexibility.  The MIAC has one extra team so one MIAC team would have to sit out each year.  This would guarantee the WIAC and MIAC at least one non-conference game each year.

I like your idea, but there are practical problems with setting up a 9 year rotation.  The MIAC still awaits Macalester's return to the conference, which, when it occurs, will add another conference game and take away a nonconference game.  This leaves the MIAC with one free nonconference week, which some schools are trying to build local rivalries with.  For example, Concordia plays Moorhead State each year in the Power Bowl, and they're not likely to want to give that up for a WIAC game where they may have to travel to Platteville (a good 9 hour trip from Moorhead).  St. Olaf has played Luther recently, marking a Lutheran battle; UST played Loras, a Catholic battle.  With St. Scholastica adding football, it is likely that they will look (eventually) to add MIAC teams to their schedule as well.

Good idea, but it's not likely to happen over a 9-year rotation.  I could see a 2-year conference affiliation agreement, though.

Seems to me that 8 conference games is enough.  I'd rather keep Mac out or start rotating someone off the schedule than play 9 conference games.  [I'm admittedly new to the MIAC, so what do I know.  But adding Mac just puts another weak team on the schedule, and I'd rather see SJU play better teams than weaker teams.]

Even though my head is starting to hurt again, I'm going to say that the worst reason for any decision is because of what Macalaster might do.

Let's play SCSU again. Didn't we kick their ass in hoops last year, Watchmen?

Kind of like the lawyer that fell overboard in shark infested waters  and remained unharmed until his rescue much later. When asked how he managed to survive among the sharks he replied professional courtesy.

I guess that answers the age old question of what was the Queen doing?

Answer - She was home-coming.

Personally, rather than the WIAC, I would like to see a consistent 37 year agreement with either the UMAC or the DAC-10.  That would be mooooooooney!!!!  Imagine the Possibilities:  SJU vs Crown (maybe cement that one in for just every year, phone it in!), Bethel vs Jamestown Jimmies, Gustavus vs Martin Luther, and maybe a yearly battle of Augsburg vs Dakota State (every year at Augsburg no matter what "Arena Bowl Cage Match"), wow simply amazing....dirty deeds!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Go Bethel and SJU!!!  Always remember, a good friend once told me, "I don't smoke crack because I make to much money to mess with that. I'M RICH, I DRIVE A 2009 M3. Whats my name bia!"   Sillllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly time!!!!!!!!!!!!

KR, Now the question is: Is this a traditional lookin homecoming queen, or the queen that's elected as a joke?   My senior year we elected a foreign exchange student who outweighed 3 out of our 5 starting O-linemen.  Funny at the time-now kinda pathetic    ;D

Since I just found out that I am sitting right now smack dab in the center of one of the worst places to live, I think it's time for me to head north to try to put some meat on the table.
Safe travels for all travelers. JR, hope your trial is going swimmingly. KR, keep your phone handy.

SJU will be hotter than Dutch love tomorrow. The offense will play gouda than last week and the defense will edam up.

Clean sweep by the Johnnies.

I know my Johnnie brethern seldom share my sentiments (UnderArmor and all...) however I'd like to wish Good Luck to the Royals in their conquest of LAX, home of the world's largest six-pack!

Go Johnnies!  ;D

You should all run over to eBay and check out what the PS3 is fetching on the open market.  Average about $2000 a system for a profit of $1300, I saw one that went for 14,000 dollars!!  A little pre-planning and you could have ordered a few and then resell and have plenty of money to get one when the holidays are over.  Unless you really needed to play it on release day,but the games that are out aren't that great so it'd be worth it to sell.   Maybe I can get a Wii..........
