Anyone going to be at the Prep Bowl on Friday? Should be some good games.

Myself and M&G will be down in the dome Friday, our cousin is playing in the class A game.  It should be a full day of good football.  Happy Thanksgiving, and safe travels to all.

Reminiscing last night brought forth a memory of a trip a few years ago.

It was Thanksgiving of 2000.  We were in Seattle to play PLU.  Where else do you take a football team for Thanksgiving dinner when you're away from home but...Old Country Buffet!  I think we stood in line nearly an hour to get that scrumptious meal, which I will never forget :D

Wooderson, wouldn't you agree that that was a fantastic excursion???

I hope everyone has a great Turkey Day!

How could I forget?  I also remember one of the busses got a speeding ticket on the way there!

Meals at OCB, accommodations at the King Oscar Motel and an OT victory over PLU in a downpour...Doesn't get much better than that!

Happy Thanksgiving and +k to everyone (#400 to you, Duff).  Our first without either #1 or #2 son, but glad #2 will be with a good MN family.  Is eelpout a Thanksgiving specialty - or is that what Fins is going spearing for next week?

When Chuck Norris' wife burned the turkey one thanksgiving, Chuck said, "don't worry about it honey," and went into his backyard. He came back five minutes later with a live turkey, ate it whole, and when he threw it up a few seconds later it was fully cooked and came with cranberry sauce. When his wife asked him how he had done it, he gave her a roundhouse kick to the face and said, "Never question Chuck Norris."

What's the explanation for this, MR?  Have you been shut up in your house without seeing the sun for a month or something?  ??? These get more banal and more disturbing at the same time.  Living in NY must not agree with you.

I (obviously) missed the OCB and the King Oscar Motel, but I was there for the OT victory over PLU! It was sweet!! And then I went to IKEA! ;) ;D

MR,
Skip Pat's, it's Geno's (or in a pinch, Jim's), although I bet d3Keith might have something better ...

ROR,
I ought to call my deadbeat brother back there and have him chaffeur you to the airport as thanks for having my back elsewhere on the boards.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Duff - did the rest of the patrons flip out when they saw all 60+ of you guys walk in?  I imagine Linneman alone could put back 5-6 plates?

Thankgiving for me just got a little more interesting.....my mom had to be admitted to the hospital last night.  She is having an angioplasty in a couple hours.  Sounds like everything is fine and all of that, but I have been put in charge of thanksgiving dinner.  I am making the first (of many, I imagine) attempts at a pumpkin pie here shortly.

Good luck to the j's this weekend and safe travels to all headed to Oregon for the game and those headed out for the holiday.  Please keep my mother in the prayers.  thanks.

I hope all is well with your mother. My tip for making pumpkin pie is that most bakeries have lovely ones available! ;D

TM, You wouldn't by chance be headed to the Coliseum Saturday night would you???
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

repete,

My pleasure.  I figured being an east coast guy you were finished for the day.  I couldn't finish my day without responding to that half wit.

That is such a great line I could not resist using it.  It's especially funny when
it so appropriate.   ;D

So should I be stopping off to pick up Hamms tonight after work? I don't want to face the crowd of shopper if I don't need to! :D

Yes.  Sounds like a blast.

I'm going to call my buddy in Spokane and hope to bypass the shopping center.

I had things set up for a trip down there if Oxy hadn't taken the tailpipe against Woolworth.  But with that out the window we'll be home.  However, #1 son (ND '03) will be there so the family will be represented.

BTW, Oxy sucks.  Weather in Spokane on Sat: rain/snow, low 30s.  Weather in LA on Sat: sunny and 70s.   Did I say Oxy sucks?  :P

DuffMan

Can someone post the itinerary so those of us not going can oogle it?
